New Projects
On March 13th, China Hengan Chongqing high-grade tissue paper phase Ⅲ expansion project was signed at the headquarters of Hengan Group in Quanzhou, Fujian Province, and the project was successfully established in Chongqing Digital Intelligence Industrial Park in Banan District. The signing of the third phase of the project, with a total investment of 2 billion yuan, will see the construction of four new high-grade tissue paper production lines, which are scheduled to start construction in April and commence production within a year.

APP (China) Rudong tissue production base: enhancing the workshop with digital intelligence
Gold Hongye Paper (part of APP China) has completed the construction of the first phase of its tissue production facility, which has a capacity of 780 thousand tpy. The second phase project has fulfilled all approval procedures and is now ready for commencement and construction. To achieve long-term and healthy operation in base in Rudong, APP Group implements an integrated development strategy of forestry, pulp, and paper. The company plans to invest 15 billion yuan in new projects and improve the industrial chain. Digital transformation is also a key development strategy for the future of APP Group.

New Projects
On-site promotion activity of China Suining Gold Hongye Paper project successfully held
On February 21st, the on-site promotion activity of key projects of new industrialization in the first quarter of 2024 in Suining, China was held in Suining Economic Development Zone. Gold Hongye’s 90,000 tpy tissue paper project is the representative project of this promotion activity, with a total investment of 1.08 billion yuan, covering an area of 90 acres, and planning to build 4 tissue production lines.

New Projects
On March 5th, TM55 of Taison Group (Hubei, China) was successfully started up. The new machine is a crescent-type tissue machine supplied by Shanghai Qingliang, with a width of 2,850mm, a design speed of 1,600m/min, and an annual production capacity of 20,000t using commercial wood pulp, which is the first production line of the second-phase project.

Tissue machines supplied by Shanghai Qingliang to Tiaoshanying Paper and Shanxi Lida Group started up
On February 17th, the TM3 Eco tissue machine supplied by Shanghai Qingliang to Baoding Tiaoshanying Paper started to produce paper. This is the third tissue machine supplied by Shanghai Qingliang to the company. With a width of 3,550mm, a design speed of 1,400 m/min, and a single machine capacity of 25,000 tpy. TM13 supplied by Shanghai Qingliang to Shanxi Lida Group started to produce paper on March 2nd.
On February 29th, China Taison Technology (Group) Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement with Chongqing Tongnan Industrial Investment Group, planning to invest 2 billion yuan in Tongnan, the construction of an annual output of 150,000 tons of specialty paper, 100,000 tons of tissue paper and CHP（Cogeneration, combined heat and power）project.

Shaanxi Bingzhi's tissue machine has been successfully started up at Anhui Yisheng Paper
On February 28th, Shaanxi Bingzhi Machinery Co., Ltd. provided Yisheng Paper Co., Ltd. in Anhui Province, China with a 2850mm wide tissue machine that has a design speed of 1200 m/min. The machine was officially put into production. The project was signed in May 2023 and includes a waste paper pulp production line, a wood pulp production line, a new crescent tissue machine, and converting equipment. It will be specialized in producing toilet tissue.
New Projects
This is the 12th environmentally friendly tissue machine supplied by Shanghai Qingliang industry to Lida Group. The width of the machine is 2,850mm, the design speed is 1,400m/min, and the capacity of the single machine is 20,000 tpy.

On February 28th, the crescent tissue machine, provided by Baoding Changda Paper Machinery Co., Ltd. in China, to Henan Huajie Sanitary Products Co., Ltd. was successfully started up. This is the first tissue machine supplied by Baoding Changda to Henan Huajie. The machine has a width of 2850 mm, a design speed of 1400m/min, and a production capacity of 20000 tpy. Henan Huajie Sanitary Products Co., Ltd. has another tissue machine of the same model being installed and is expected to start operating in March 2024.

On March 20th, China Rainforest, Suzano, COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers Co., Ltd. and China Paper signed a high-profile "Environmental and Child Friendly” project in Shanghai, underlining the strong commitment of all parties to care for children and protect the environment.
Chongqing Longjing Paper's intelligent technology reform and expansion project started
On February 25th, Chongqing Longjing Paper started the reform and expansion project of its top grade tissue paper intelligent technology in Fengdu County. The project is capable of producing 35,000 tons of paper towels and kitchen towels per year, and is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in September this year, by which time Chongqing Longjing Paper's tissue paper production capacity will reach 55,000 tons.

Vanov Group and Guangxi Laibin City signed an annual output of 500,000 tons of bamboo fiber project
On March 13th, the signing ceremony for Vanov Group's 500,000 tons per annum bamboo fiber project was officially held at the Laibin City People's Government Office in Guangxi.
Construction has begun on newly invested hygiene product projects by Tianjiao and Huifeng Maternal and Child Health in Luojiang, Quanzhou
On February 21st, Luojiang District in Quanzhou, Fujian, China held a ceremony to mark the start and completion of key projects planned for the first quarter of 2024. Luojiang plans to commence 16 projects during this period, with a total investment of 6.148 billion yuan. Additionally, 10 projects with a total investment of 3.81 billion yuan have already been completed. This describes 10 projects, including Weiheng Health Products production project and Aobang Health Products project. Quanzhou Weiheng Health Products production project is being invested in and constructed by Quanzhou Tianjiao Maternal and Child Health Products Co., Ltd., with a total investment of 1.5 billion yuan. The project aims to build 15 production lines for maternal and child hygiene products. Aobang Health Products project is being invested and constructed by Huifeng Maternal and Child Health Products Co., Ltd. in Luojiang District. The plan is to construct a 22,000 square meter intelligent, digital, and standardized production workshop, with a total investment of approximately 100 million yuan.

Singapore Royal Golden Eagle (RGE) offers to acquire Vinda International
On March 11st, Vinda International Holdings Ltd. and ISOLA CASTLE LTD made a joint announcement on the HKEx stating that the Offer had become unconditional in all respects andt valid acceptances of the offer had been received from Essity GH for all of its approximately 621 million shares as at 16:30 on 11 March. On 8 March, the joint announcement stated that all conditions precedent to the voluntary conditional cash offer for the acquisition of Vinda Shares had been satisfied.

China Hengan Group achieves revenue of 23.768 billion yuan in 2023
Hengan Group achieved revenue of RMB23.768 billion in 2023, up 5.1% year on year, while net profit reached RMB2.801 billion, up 45.5% year on year. Revenue from the Group's three core businesses (tissue paper, sanitary napkins and diaper business) maintained strong growth. The three businesses accounted for 57.8%, 26.0% and 5.3% of the Group's revenue respectively.

Pulp and parent tissue roll prices in China's major regional markets for tissue paper in February 2024
According to the research data of Tissue Paper & Disposable Products magazine, in February 2024, although there are fluctuations of China's average price of various kinds of pulp compared to January 2024, but the change is small, the overall price is relatively stable. In early and mid-February, the pulp price is in a stable state as a whole. After the resumption of work during the Spring Festival, the average price of imported wood pulp in Hebei region has increased, while the average price of various types of pulp in Guangxi region has decreased.

On March 1st, the first foreign trade vessel "SPM BANGKOK" carrying the production raw materials of Gold Hongye Paper (Nantong, China) Co. Ltd. berthed smoothly at the General Purpose Terminal of Yangkou Port in Rudong. This is the terminal on January 25 this year after the approval of the qualification of opening up to the outside world ushered in the first foreign trade bulk cargo ships, cargo ships loaded with 11,000 tons. As a sign, the Gold Hongye project has been realized the "point-to-point" delivery of imported raw materials to the finished product processing base. Gold Hongye Rudong base project plans a total investment of 45 billion yuan, the goal of the world's largest annual output of 3.96 million tons of tissue paper production base.

"Biodegradable Spunbond Nonwovens" and other industry standards to be implemented on 1 July
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China has approved 1,276 industry standards, among which FZ/T64104-2023 "Biodegradable Spunbond Nonwovens" and three other nonwovens-related standards will be implemented on 1 July 2024. The standard applies to spunbonded nonwoven fabrics made of polylactic acid as raw material, melt spinning into a net and bonded by hot rolling, and other spunbonded nonwoven fabrics produced by biodegradable polymer raw materials can be used for reference.
China Xiaogan Paper and Hygiene Products Industrial Cluster exceeds 16 billion yuan
In 2023, the output value of Xiaonan District, Xiaogan City, Hubei Province, China's paper and hygiene products industrial cluster exceeded 16 billion yuan, with tax revenue of nearly 700 million yuan, and the industrial cluster is developing rapidly.
