China Shanxi Yungang Paper’s new crescent tissue machine provided by Shanghai Qingliang started up
On June 22, China Shanxi Yungang Paper Industry’s TM9 new crescent tissue machine provided by Shanghai Qingliang Industry started up. This machine has a width of 3,550mm, designed to operate at a speed of 1,600m/min, and boasts a single-machine capacity exceeding 25,000 tons per year.
Baoding Dayi Paper started up TM7 supplied by Shanghai Qingliang
On July 8, the third environmentally-friendly tissue machine TM7 supplied by Shanghai Qingliang to China Baoding Dayi started production. This tissue machine had a width of 3,600mm, a design speed of 1,400m/min, and a single-machine capacity exceeding 25,000 tpy.

Announcement of environmental impact assessment of China Jingde Wanfang’s tissue paper project with 200,000 tpy
Recently, Jingde County Wanfang Daily Necessities Co., Ltd.’s intelligent manufacturing project with 200,000 tpy of lotion tissue, announced its environmental impact assessment. This project is located in Huangjia Park, Jingde Economic Development Zone, Anhui, China, covering an area of 159 mu with 3 industrial plants and 1 three-dimensional warehouse. After the project is completed, it will have a tissue paper production capacity of 200,000 tpy.
ASEAN modern tissue paper industry project in Guangxi China officially started construction
On June 28, a significant groundbreaking ceremony for major projects was held in Binyang County, Guangxi, China. A total of 9 projects commenced in June, including renovations, expansions, and new constructions of existing factories. The project plans to establish 100 tissue converting production lines.

China Bohai Chemical’s SAP project officially started construction
On June 30, China Tianjin Bohai Chemical Co., Ltd. held a groundbreaking ceremony for its acrylic ester and SAP projects at the Bohai Petrochemical Industrial Zone. The project is expected to put into production by the end of December 2025.

China Yiyi has released its 2024 first half year performance forecast
On July 11, Tianjin Yiyi Hygiene Products Co., Ltd., announced its 2024 first half year performance forecast. The net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company is expected to range from approximately 91 million to 98 million yuan, an increase of 102.38% to 117.95% compared to the same period last year. The main reasons include the depletion of overseas customer inventories, recovery and sustained growth in customer orders, and contributions from new customers generating revenue.

Chinese national standard Hygiene Standard for Disposable Sanitary Products approved and released
Recently, China’s State Administration for Market Regulation (Standardization Administration of China) approved the release of 18 mandatory national standards, including GB 15979-2024 Hygiene Standard for Disposable Sanitary Products. This standard will be implemented starting from July 1, 2025.

Recently, Standardization Administration of China issued a notice on the fourth batch of recommended national standards programs and related foreign language edition plans for 2024. Among them, 9 national standards programs in paper industry, including Sanitary absorbent pads (panty liner), were approved for implementation.

Chinese group standards such as Guideline for carbon footprint accounting and reporting for pulp, paper, paperboard and paper products approved and released
On July 2, China Technical Association of Paper Industry approved and released Guideline for carbon footprint accounting and reporting for pulp, paper, paperboard and paper products (T/CTAPI 006-2024) and High quality natural color tissue paper with bamboo fiber (T/CTAPI 007-2024) and other group standards which will be implemented from July 8, 2024.
In the first quarter of 2024, China’s tissue paper industry added new production capacity of 428,000 tons
According to a survey by CNHPIA, from January to March 2024, China’s industry added approximately 428,000 tons per annum of modern production capacity. This expansion included 19 tissue machines, consisting of 2 imported and 17 domestically manufactured machines. For the entire year of 2024, the industry plans to add over 2.2 million tons of modern production capacity. The capacity actually added in the first quarter accounts for nearly 20% of the annual planned new capacity. It is anticipated that some of the projects planned for the year may experience delays, intensifying market competition.

The prices of pulp and tissue parent rolls in major regional markets for tissue paper in China in June 2024
According to the research data from Tissue Paper & Disposable Products magazine, overall pulp prices in China showed a slight decline in June 2024. Among wood pulp materials, the average prices for imported bleached hardwood pulp boards in Hebei and Guangxi, as well as imported bleached softwood pulp boards in Hebei decreased. Meanwhile, the average price of bleached eucalyptus wet pulp in Guangxi remained stable. Among non-wood pulp materials, prices for bleached bamboo pulp boards and natural color bamboo pulp boards in Sichuan and Chongqing both saw varying degrees of decline, while the price of bleached bagasse wet pulp in Guangxi increased slightly.

40 containers of imported pulp arrived in Chongqing Lee & Man Paper via a combined sea-rail-river transport route
Market Dynamic
Recently, a cargo ship carrying a total of 40 containers of pulp imported by Chongqing Lee & Man Paper Co., Ltd. docked at Yongchuan Port in Chongqing. This is the first time that imported goods under the New Western Land-Sea Corridor have adopted the “multiple transit” function of “intermodal transport”, realizing “sea-rail-river” intermodal transport imports. Upon arrival at the port, the goods were cleared after inspection immediately, significantly enhancing port turnover efficiency and maximizing customs clearance efficiency, achieving “zero delay” in customs clearance for the goods.
