On August 22, China Orient Champion’s TM2 successfully completed its technological upgrade and began production. This achievement marks a technical upgrade and optimization based on the original Kawanoe Zoki tissue machine.

On August 21, the groundbreaking and launching ceremony for major projects in August was held in Chongqing, China. Among them was the Chongqing Lee & Man entire tissue industrial chain project, which includes an annual capacity of 2 million tons of green new materials and a global R&D center. The project covers an area of approximately 120 hectares, with a total investment of 1.6 billion USD. It encompasses the entire industrial chain, including chemical pulp, food-grade packaging paper, and tissue parent roll.

Liansheng Paper’s yankee cylinder of a new crescent tissue machine supplied by Shandong Hicredit installed
On August 23, Fujian Liansheng Pulp & Paper’s 16-foot steel yankee cylinder for the HC-1700CS/2850 new crescent tissue machine, supplied by Shandong Hicredit Heavy Machinery, was successfully installed. The yankee cylinder, along with subsequent deliveries of components such as the headbox, vacuum rolls, air hood, rollers, winding section, and frame, were all independently manufactured by Shandong Hicredit Heavy Machinery.
China Taison Group’s Yongfeng pulp & paper natural color pulp expansion project with 150,000 tpy will put into production
The natural color pulp expansion project with 150,000 tpy at Taison Group’s Yongfeng Pulp & Paper Co., Ltd. has entered the equipment commissioning stage and is nearing completion and production. Additionally, the 100,000 tpy specialty paper expansion project and the 200,000 tpy cultural paper expansion project are being accelerated. Once completed and operational, the pulping and papermaking capacity at the Muchuan base will increase from 400,000 tons to 950,000 tons.

TM11 and TM12 cylinders were successfully hoisted at China Yungang Paper
On August 31, the cylinders of TM11 and TM12 of Yungang Paper were successfully hoisted, which marks the continued expansion of Yungang Paper's production capacity in the new phase and the basic completion of the core equipment installation tasks.
The environmental impact assessment public notice of Botare Yuanchuang’s tissue project with one million tpy released
On August 30, the Ecological Environment Bureau of Guigang released the public notice for the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of the Botare Yuanchuang Tissue Project before the approval process. The project plans a total pulp and paper production scale of 1.86 million tons per year. Phase I involves the construction of 330,000 tons of bleached chemical pulp and 300,000 tons of tissue paper and post-processing capacity. Phase II includes the construction of an additional 330,000 tons of bleached chemical pulp and 300,000 tons of tissue paper and post-processing capacity. Phase III plans to produce 200,000 tons of chemical mechanical pulp and 400,000 tons of tissue paper and post-processing capacity. This EIA only evaluates the construction of Phases I and II.

China C&S Paper achieves revenue of 4.021 billion yuan in the first half of 2024
China C&S Paper Co., Ltd. achieved a revenue of 4.021 billion yuan in the first half of 2024, a decrease of 14.17% year-on-year. The net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company was approximately 87.5826 million yuan, an increase of 3.66% compared to the same period last year.

To implement Opinions of the General Office of the State Council on Developing the Silver Economy to Enhance the Well-being of the Elderly and Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Development of the Elderly Products Industry, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) organized the application process for the 2024 Elderly Products Promotion Catalog. On September 13, 2024, the MIIT published 2024 Elderly Products Promotion Catalog on its official website, which includes 20 manufacturers of adult diapers, adult diaper pads, wet wipes, and disposable underwear.

Pulp and tissue parent roll prices in major regional markets of China in August 2024
According to data from Tissue Paper & Disposable Products magazine, the average price of pulp in major regional markets of China’s tissue paper continued to decline in August 2024. Among them, the average price of imported bleached hardwood pulp in Hebei saw the largest drop, decreasing by more than 300 yuan per ton.
Among non-wood pulp materials, the average price of bleached bamboo pulp in Sichuan and Chongqing decreased by 125 yuan per ton, settling at 5,450 yuan per ton, while the average price of unbleached bamboo pulp in the same region fell by 38 yuan per ton, reaching 4,300 yuan per ton. The average price of bleached bagasse wet pulp (based on absolute-dry weight) in Guangxi decreased by 115 yuan per ton, now priced at 4,710 yuan per ton. In August 2024, the average price of tissue parent roll across all regions also saw a decline, with the average price of bleached wood pulp tissue parent roll in Guangxi dropping the most, down by 135 yuan per ton. Except for unbleached bamboo pulp tissue parent roll in Sichuan and Chongqing, the price drops for other types of tissue parent roll in different regions were smaller than those for pulp, leading to some relief in cost pressure for tissue parent roll manufacturers.

Brave the waves and break the current: The 28th China Tissue Paper Executives Summit held in Baoding, Hebei
On the afternoon of September 12, the 28th China Tissue Paper Executives Summit, hosted by the CNHPIA and co-organized by Libang Group, Yusen Group, and Jinboshi Group, was successfully held at the Power Valley International Hotel in Baoding, Hebei Province.

On September 13, the national strategy of “Increase Variety, Improve Quality and Innovate Brand” in Baoding—the event of “strong supply of famous and excellent products, improving quality and driving industrial upgrading” was successfully held in Baoding, Hebei. It was hosted by CNHPIA, Industry and Information Technology Department of Hebei Province, and the Baoding Municipal People’s Government.
