China’s tissue paper industry put 2.057 million tons of new capacity into production in 2022
According to the investigation and survey of the secretariat of CNHPIA, in 2022, a total of 39 enterprises in China’s tissue paper industry put new tissue machines into operation. The number of tissue machines put into operation reached 84, with the new production capacity of 2.057 million tons. Although it has fallen compared to the new production capacity of 2.786 million tons in 2021, it is still at a relatively high level in history, and the industry competition has further intensified.

China Baotuo’s tissue machines intensively started up, achieving production of 3 units on the same day and 5 units per week
On March 5, China Baosuo Enterprise Group’s Baotuo Paper Machinery achieved the production of 3 tissue machines on the same day, including: PM30 (model: BC1800-3650, speed: 1,800m/min) at Changde Base of China Hengan Group; PM10 (model: BC1600-2850, speed: 1,600m/min) at Xilong Base of China Vanov Group; and PM11 (model: BC1600-2850, speed: 1,600m/min) at Leiyang Base of China Shaoneng Group.

New Projects
In the first week of March, in addition to the three tissue machines mentioned above being put into operation on the same day, two other tissue machines produced by Baotuo Paper Machinery also successfully started up, including: PM9 (model: BC1600-2850, speed: 1,600m/min) at Xilong Base of China Vanov Group and PM2 (model: BC1300-2850, design speed: 1,300m/min) at China Jiangmen Renke Lvzhou Paper.

New Projects
China Baoding Weituo Paper-Making Machinery successfully completed the tissue machine transformation project of Baoding Lixin Paper
On February 24, Baoding Lixin Paper started up the second tissue machine with a width of 3.55m delivered by Baoding Weituo Paper-Making Machinery. This project involves the transformation of a vacuum circular mesh tissue machine into a new crescent tissue machine. The tissue machine reached stable operating speed immediately upon start-up, and achieved good results in terms of steam and electricity consumption, which reduced operating costs.
China Baoding Weituo Machinery’s 2850 new crescent tissue paper machine started up successfully
On March 24, the TM2 provided by Weituo Machinery for China Longkou Mingjie Paper was started up successfully. The tissue machine has a width of 2.85m, a speed of 1,200 m/min, and an annual capacity of 18,000 tons. The energy-saving breathing air hood, multistage turbulent headbox and high-performance frequency converter are independently developed and manufactured by Weituo Machinery.

Xi’an Via Paper Machinery Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Orient Champion Paper Co., Ltd. reach cooperation on paper machinery renovation project
In recent days, Xi’an Via Paper Machinery Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Orient Champion Paper Co., Ltd. have signed an order for a paper machinery rebuilding project. The equipment to be rebuilt by Orient Champion Paper is Valmet’s paper machinery, which will achieve energy saving and cost reduction after rebuilding.

China Suining Gold Hongye Paper’s 90,000 tpy tissue paper project EIA publicly disclosed for the second time
On February 22, China Suining Economic and Technological Development Zone released information on the second public announcement of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for Suining Golden Hongye Paper’s 90,000 tpy tissue paper project. The project includes 2 new crescent tissue machines with a speed of 1,600 m/min and a width of 5.6 meters, with a single machine capacity of about 450,000 tpy and a total production capacity of 90,000 tpy.

China Hengan International achieved operating revenue of 22.616 billion yuan in 2022
In 2022, the operating revenue of China Hengan International reached 22.616 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 8.8%; net profit fell 41.2% year on year to 1.925 billion yuan. Gross profit margin for the period was 34.0%, down 3.4% from 37.4% in the same period last year.

China C&S released 2022 annual performance report
On February 27, China C&S Paper Co., Ltd. released its 2022 annual performance report. In 2022, its total revenue was about 8.57 billion yuan, down 6.34% year on year. Operating profit was 400 million yuan, down 40.72% year on year. Net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was 352 million yuan, down 39.43% year on year. The basic earnings per share were 0.27 yuan, down 40.00% year on year.
China Henkel’s 2022 sales reached 22.397 billion euros, a significant increase of 11.6%
In 2022, Henkel’s sales were EUR 22.397 billion, up 11.6% year on year. Net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was EUR1.259 billion, down 23.0% year on year. Emerging markets delivered organic sales growth of 13.3%, and organic sales in mature markets rose 5.2%.

Foreigners to China policies adjustment, more convenient for overseas customers to view the exhibition
In order to facilitate the people-to-people exchanges between China and other countries, the Chinese government has adjusted its visa and entry policies for foreigners coming to China, as effective from 0:00 on March 15, 2023: Foreigners with valid visas issued before March 28, 2020 will be allowed to enter China. All categories of Chinese visas can be applied for. Port visas are no longer suspended. The following visa-free policies will be resumed: Hainan 59 country visa-free policy, 15-Day visa-free travel for cruise groups at Shanghai ports, visa-free entry to Guangdong Province for foreigners’ group from Hong Kong and Macao SARs, visa-free entry to Guilin of Guangxi Autonomous Region for tourist groups from ASEAN countries.

On March 1, China Hengan Group successfully completed the SAP system upgrade. In 2022, Hengan Group worked with SAP to start the SAP project upgrade. On January 30, the project team evaluated the feasibility of online switching based on blueprint design, system development implementation, system testing and other completed status, and confirmed the official switch on March 1.

On March 16, the construction of a digital platform for tissue paper in Mancheng District was officially launched at the China Paper Industry High Quality Development Forum. P&G’s Beijing R&D center enters new journey
On February 23, P&G Technologies (Beijing) Co., Ltd. held the launch ceremony for the new journey project in Beijing, announcing the official opening of the expansion project of Beijing P&G.
