China Golden Doctor’s 250,000 tpy tissue project settled in Xiaonan District, Xiaogan City, Hubei Province, China
On July 26, China Golden Doctor Group officially signed a contract for a project in Xiaonan District, Xiaogan City, Hubei Province, China, with a total investment of 2.5 billion yuan and an annual capacity of 250,000 tons of tissue paper. The company’s goal is to start production by October 1, 2024, creating the “Golden Doctor Speed” and refreshing the pace of Xiaonan District.
China C&S plans to put the first phase of Dazhou project with 100,000 tons of tissue paper capacity into production by the end of the year
Since the start of construction last year, the pulp and paper integration project of C&S (Dazhou, China) is expected to be put into production by the end of this year. The project will be built in three phases, with an annual output of 318,000 tons of bamboo pulp and 300,000 tons of bamboo pulp tissue paper. At present, the first phase with the production capacity of 100,000 tons of tissue paper is under construction, with a total investment of about 1 billion yuan.

China Guangxi Guigang Shengzheng Paper Co., Ltd. successfully started up TM2
On August 17, China Guangxi Guigang Shengzheng Paper Co., Ltd. successfully started up TM2 crescent tissue machine, supplied by Baoding Changda, with a width of 2,850 mm, a design speed of 1,300 m/min, and an annual production capacity of about 15,000 tons.
Sateri started up the first flushable nonwovens line in Anhui, China
On July 25, Sateri, Singapore’s RGE Group subsidiary, was officially put into operation at its 13th factory in China, Sateri (Tongling) Nonwovens Materials Co., Ltd. The company successfully launched its first flushable nonwovens line.
China Shuozhou Economic Development Zone and China Shanxi Jiemei Sanitary Products formally signed a contract on a 200,000 tpy tissue project
On August 18, China Shuozhou Economic Development Zone and China Shanxi Jiemei SanitaryProducts Co., Ltd. formally signed a contract on the project with an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons of tissue paper. Performance of Listed Company
China Hengan International achieved operating revenue of 12.205 billion yuan in the first half of 2023
On August 24, Hengan International Group Limited announced its report for the first half of 2023. In the first half of the year, Hengan International achieved operating revenue of 12.205 billion yuan, an increase of 9.0% year on year; profit attributable to equity holders of the company amounted to 1.226 billion yuan, a slight decrease of 4.0% year on year.
China Baiya Corporation achieved operating revenue of 950 million yuan in the first half of 2023
On August 11, China Chongqing Baiya released its report for the first half of 2023. In the first half of 2023, the company’s operating revenue reached approximately 950 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 28.60%. Net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed companies was about 132 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 68.12%.
China Winner Medical achieved operating revenue of 4.267 billion yuan in the first half of 20233
On August 16, China Winner Medical Co., Ltd. released its report for the first half of 2023. In the first half of 2023, the company’s operating revenue was 4.267 billion yuan, down 17.28% year on year. Net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was 682 million yuan, down 23.66% from the same period last year.

Imports and exports of China tissue paper and hygiene products in the first half of 2023
According to Chinese customs statistics, in the first half of 2023, both the import volume of tissue paper and hygiene products in China showed a significant decrease, while the export volume experienced comprehensive growth, leading to an expansion of the trade surplus. The export volume and value of China's tissue paper showed a significant year-on-year increase, indicating a favorable situation. On the other hand, the import volume and value decreased compared to the same period, with imports totaling around 16,700 tons. The exports of absorbent hygiene products continued to show overall growth momentum, maintaining the upward trends observed in the previous two years in terms of export volume, export value, and average export price. However, the import volume decreased substantially by 49.33% compared to the same period in 2022, reaching only 19,700 tons. Both the import and export volume of wet wipes declined, but the total export volume remained significantly higher than the import volume. This suggests that China’s wet wipes production capacity not only meets domestic market demands but also possesses strong competitiveness in the international market.

“Kitchen Towel” and 3 other national standards related to Chinese tissue paper industry approved for release
On August 6, the State Administration for Market Regulation of China (Standardization Administration) issued Announcement No. 7 of 2023, approving the release of 431 recommended national standards and 2 national standard revisions. Among them, three national standards pertaining to the tissue paper industry, including “Kitchen Towel”, have been officially authorized for release.

Orient Champion completed energy-saving transformation of mills OCP7 and OCP8 at Jinshan base

On June 1, 2. Orient Champion completed the energy-saving transformation of the paper-making factory OCP8 at its Jinshan base, with paper production starting as planned. The steam consumption per ton of paper for OCP8 has significantly decreased. The next target of the Jinshan base’s industrial upgrade project is the technological transformation of OCP1, which is scheduled to start on August 19.

Kao Corporation ceases production of diapers in China
On August 3, Japanese company Kao Corporation announced the immediate cessation of diaper production in China. Specifically, the Anhui Hefei factory responsible for manufacturing the Merries brand diapers will halt operations, with subsequent decisions regarding the sale of the factory to be determined through consultations with local authorities. Going forward, Kao Corporation plans to export diapers from Japan to China and continue their sales in the market.

Another major breakthrough in China Futian’s innovative technology
China Futian has successfully developed a new generation of integrated welding and cutting flexible production system. Its features include: firstly, it can carry out flexible production with one-key code change, which saves costs significantly; secondly, it realizes the integration of ultrasonic welding and slitting, shortens the process flow and improves the stability of equipment operation; thirdly, the welding and cutting area can be controlled within 3 millimeters, accurately ensuring the slitting phase; fourthly, the choice of materials and welding patterns is more compatible, solving problems in hot-air cloth ultrasonic high-speed welding, and increasing the flexibility of pattern design; and fifthly, it can adapt to high-speed production.

The 27th China Tissue Paper Executives Summit held in Xiaogan, Hubei, China
On July 27, the 27th China Tissue Paper Executives Summit, hosted by CNHPIA and co-organized by Libang Group, the chairman company this year, was successfully held in Xiaogan. A total of 35 representatives from 19 China Tissue Paper Executives Summit member companies and special invitees, including Hengan, Vinda, Gold Hongye, C&S, Orient Champion, Welfare, Taison, Sun Paper, Chenming, Foliage, Asia Symbol and Libang Group, attended the Forum.
The participants exchanged views and discussed around the theme of “In the face of risks and challenges at home and abroad, how to seize opportunities and how industry leaders drive the development”, and introduced the latest production and operation, project construction and energy conservation and consumption reduction of their enterprises.

The 2023 China International Paper Technology Exhibition and Conference opens in Shanghai
The “2023 China International Paper Technology Exhibition and Conference”, jointly organized by the China Paper Association, China Technical Association of Paper Industry and China National Pulp and Paper Research Institute, opened on August 14 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center.
