China Hengan Group’s high-end tissue paper industrial park project started to construct in Xiaogan base, Hubei
On April 27, China Hengan Group’s 5 billion yuan high-end tissue paper industrial park project began construction in Xiaogan base, Hubei Province. A new high-end structured tissue machine and finished product converting line are scheduled to be built under this project, with paper converting mill, as well as water supply, three-dimensional warehouse, logistics distribution center and other public facilities.
China Baosuo Group provided energy-saving upgrading service for China Lee & Man Group
Recently, China Jiangxi Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing Co. Ltd. planned to upgrade the crescent tissue machine with a width of 5.6m and a design speed of 2,200m/min to save energy, and finally chose the Baotuo Paper Equipment Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Baosuo Group, to renovate the vacuum pressing parts. Without reducing the speed, it is estimated that the sheet dryness before the dryer can be increased by 3%, thereby reducing steam consumption by more than 10%, and improving the bulkness of finished paper.

APP started up TM7 in China Rudong tissue paper manufacturing base successfully
On May 13, APP’s Gold Hongye Paper (Nantong, China) Co., Ltd. successfully put TM7 into production. The tissue machine was provided by Valmet (PMP), with a trimmed width of 3,600mm, a design speed of 1,600m/min, and a design capacity of more than 30,000 tpy.
Gold Hongye Paper (Nantong) Co., Ltd. plans to invest 45 billion yuan in total, and its annual production capacity of high-grade tissue paper will be 3.96 million tons after the final completion. 10 billion yuan will be invested in the first phase project to achieve 780,000 tpy capacity of high-grade tissue paper.

On May 5, Obee Personal Care Products (Foshan, China) Co., Ltd. successfully bid land in Jiujiang, Guangdong, China, and planned to invest about 300 million yuan to build a comprehensive base for research and development, production and sales of personal care products in Jiujiang Town.

On May 18, Dayuan New Material Technology (Yangzhou, China) Co., Ltd. started up its first production line. Dayuan’s Beijing headquarters, Suzhou factory and Tianjin factory jointly witnessed the successful operation of the first production line in Yangzhou production base through cloud meeting.

On April 27, China C&S released its 2021 financial report. The company’s operating income was about 9.150 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 16.95%, and net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was about 581 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 35.85%.
On April 28, China C&S released the performance report for the first quarter of 2022, realizing revenue of 1.884 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 10.36%. Its net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was 133 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 50.82%. The basic earnings per share were 0.10 yuan, down 52.38% year on year.

China Haoyue Personal Care released performance report for 2021 and Q1 2022
On April 26, China Haoyue Personal Care released its 2021 financial report. The company’s operating revenue was about 2.462 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 4.98%, and net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was about 363 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 39.75%. Among them, the revenue from baby care products was about 1.759 billion yuan, up 5.55% year on year; the revenue from adult hygiene products decreased by 5.13% year on year.

On the same day, the company also released its report for the first quarter of 2022, with operating revenue of about 515 million yuan, down 2.80% year on year. Net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was about 54,897,000 yuan, down 37.83% year on year, mainly caused by higher raw material costs and transportation costs.

On April 26, China Yiyi released its 2021 financial report. The company’s operating revenue was about 1.31 billion yuan, an increase of 5.56% year on year, and net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was about 114 million yuan, a decrease of 41.33% year on year. Among them, the revenue from the company’s core business, pet disposable health care products, was 1.242 billion yuan, an increase of 14.50% year on year.
On the same day, the company also released its report for the first quarter of 2022, with operating revenue of about 353 million yuan, up 13.87% year on year. Net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was about 18.3194 million yuan, down 44.91% year on year.

China Yanjan released performance report for 2021 and Q1 2022
On April 25, China Yanjan released its financial report. In 2021, the company’s operating income was about 1.249 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of about 21.24%. Excluding the impact of melt-blown nonwovens revenue in 2020, the traditional main business, perforated hot-air nonwovens and PE film, continued to grow. Net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was about 16.8425 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of about 94.38%.
In the first quarter of 2022, its operating revenue was about 324 million yuan, up 9.13% year on year, and net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was about 6.694 million yuan, up 7.75% year on year.

China Welfare achieved operating revenue of 346 million yuan in 2021
Recently, Shanghai Welfare Group released the 2021 performance report. Its operating revenue was about 346 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of about 17.36%, and net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was about -5,044,900 yuan, a year-on-year decrease of about 129.04%. Tissue paper was dominant in the main business income.
China Daddy Baby achieved operating revenue of 394 million yuan in 2021
Recently, China Daddy Baby released the 2021 performance report. Its operating revenue was about 394 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of about 49.56%, and net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was about 16,759,500 yuan, a year-on-year decrease of about 72.65%. As the easing of COVID-19 situation in China, the annual revenue from face mask business in 2021 decreased by 88.73% compared with the same period in 2020, and the unit price of products went down, resulting in a significant decline in demand.

China Little Nurse achieved operating revenue of 112 million yuan in 2021
Recently, China Little Nurse (Tianjin) Technology Co., Ltd. released the 2021 performance report. Its operating revenue was about 112 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 21.10%, and net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was about 3,389,100 yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 82.11%. The share of revenue from sanitary napkins and pads increased to 96.19% from 83.73% in 2020, and the share of revenue from medical supplies fell to 1.05% from 13.59% in 2020.
China Qiaohong New Material achieved operating revenue of 123 million yuan in 2021
On April 25, China Nanning Qiaohong New Material Co., Ltd. released the 2021 annual report. Its operating revenue was about 123 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 42.96%, and net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company was about -66,326,900 yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 239.01%. The main reasons for the revenue decline include overcapacity of melt-blown nonwovens in China, reduced sales and lower price caused by demand reduction, insufficient operation rate, and fewer multiform nonwovens clients than expected.

China Baiya achieved operating income of 432 million yuan in Q1 2022
On April 27, China Baiya Corporation released its report for the first quarter of 2022, with operating income of about 432 million yuan, up 6.59 % year on year. Net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was about 55.4160 million yuan, down 31.00% year on year.
China Tongling Jieya achieved operating income of 181 million yuan in Q1 2022
On April 27, China Tongling Jieya released its report for the first quarter of 2022. The company’s operating revenue was about 181 million yuan, down 47.91% year on year. Its net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was about 47.448 million yuan, down 42.22% year on year, mainly due to a significant decrease in the sales volume of disinfectant wipes.

Imports and exports of Chinese tissue paper and hygiene products in Q1 2022
According to customs statistics, in the first quarter of 2022, the total import volume of tissue paper in China increased by 38.94%, but the import volume was relatively small, only 10,100 tons. The export volume of tissue paper was 165,200 tons, up 3.85% year on year, and the export value increased by 11.65% year on year.
Both the import volume and import value of absorbent hygiene products in China decreased significantly, with the total import volume of 18,900 tons, down 29.70% year on year. The export volume and export value of absorbent hygiene products sustained growth.
The import value of wipes in China was about US $52.106 million, down 12.70% year on year, and the import volume decreased by 14.45%. Among them, the decline in disinfectant wipes is the key factor of the overall decline in wipes. The export volume and export value of wipes decreased by 37.25% and 29.05% year on year respectively.

Tariffs under the RCEP agreement officially entered into force between Myanmar and China from May 1
From May 1, 2022, the RCEP agreement implemented by Myanmar on all RCEP states came into force. China will also give preferential tariff rates to goods imported from Myanmar that are subject to origin criteria under RCEP.
The ex-factory price of tissue paper in Baoding, Hebei Province has recently witnessed a rapid rise
From May 18 to 19, Libang, Jurun, Huabang, Dayi, Ruifeng, Chensong and other manufacturers of parent tissue rolls in Baoding, Hebei Province, China issued price-raising letters, planning to raise the prices of jumbo rolls and finished products by 200 to 300 yuan/ton from May 20, canceling oral orders and not accepting advance payment.
Mancheng district of Baoding City is the largest concentration area for tissue paper industry in China, and has a significant influence in the national market. It is reported that this is the fourth round of price increases by local tissue companies since May, gaining about 1,200 yuan/ton to date. Another round of price increases is expected before the end of May, and prices of tissue paper will continue to rise in the coming period.

UPM
UPM is building a 2.1 million tonne greenfield eucalyptus pulp mill near Paso de los Toros in central Uruguay, scheduled to start production by the end of March 2023.
Adding to the 1.3 million tonne capacity of our existing mill in Fray Bentos in south-western Uruguay, the new mill will more than double UPM’s production of eucalyptus pulp. With our supply of consistent, sustainable eucalyptus pulp from two mills in Uruguay, UPM’s customers are secured well into the future.
