On November 18, APP(China) signed a contract for the expansion project of its Nantong Rudong base in China, with a total investment of 2.2 billion US dollars.
Nanning Sun Paper Industry of China plans to invest 1.35 billion yuan in the construction of a project with an annual production of 300,000 tons of tissue paper and post-processing
On October 28, Sun Paper Industry released a notice that the company’s board of directors reviewed and approved The Proposal on the Investment and Construction of a Project with an Annual Production of 300,000 tons of Tissue Paper and Post-processing by Its Subsidiary Nanning Sun Paper Industry Co., Ltd. The project is implemented by Nanning Sun Paper Industry Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary, and is planned to be constructed in two phases.
China Sun Paper renewed 3 China Baotuo tissue machines
Recently, China Sun Paper officially implemented a 300,000 tpy tissue paper project with converting capacity in Nanning park, Guangxi base. This is the second time that Sun Paper has signed a contract with China Baosuo Enterprise Group for 3 Baotuo high-speed crescent tissue paper machines after the 2 Baotuo paper machines in Beihai park of Sun Paper were put into operation for 1 year in Guangxi base.

New Projects
China Shanghai Qingliang put two high-end tissue machines into operation at Taison in Suzhou, China
On November 1, the third and fourth high-end tissue machines provided by Shanghai Qingliang were successfully put into operation at Taison in Suzhou, China. These two machines are the second successful start-up of tissue machines following the successful start-up of TM62 and TM63 at Taison Group at the end of September this year. Taison signed a contract with Shanghai Qingliang for a total of eight tissue machines, with a machine width of 2,850mm, a design speed of 1,600m/min, and a single machine capacity of 25,000 tons per year.
The tissue machine for this project is BC1800-2850, with a design speed of 1800 m/min and a width of 2850mm.

China Orient Champion Paper started up the OCP10 crescent tissue machine successfully
Following the start-up of new OCP11 tissue machine on November 2, China Orient Champion Paper started up the new OCP10 tissue machine successfully on November 9. This crescent tissue machine, provided by China Shanghai Qingliang, has a width of 2,850mm and a maximum operating speed of 1,400m/min.

On November 2nd, the new paper machine OCP11 at Jinshan base in China Orient Champion Group successfully started up and produced paper. This paper machine is a crescent tissue machine with a width of 2850mm and a maximum operating speed of 1400m/min, which is provided by Shanghai Qingliang, China.

China Vinda International achieved a revenue of 4.741 billion HKD in the third quarter of 2023
China C&S achieved a revenue of 2.138 billion yuan in the third quarter of 2023
China Vinda achieved total revenue of 4.741 billion HKD in the third quarter of 2023, up 8.4% year on year (11.6%, converted at a fixed exchange rate). Tissue segment generated 3.915 billion HKD, and personal care segment realized 826 million HKD. Profit increased by 71.6% to 133 million HKD.
China C&S Paper Co., Ltd. achieved revenue of 2.138 billion yuan in the third quarter of 2023, up 22.44% year on year. Net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed companies was approximately 80.93 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 72.69%.

Yuen Foong Shi, owned by China Yuen Foong Yu, saw a total revenue of 10,124,589,000 TWD, up 2.37% year on year, resuming the ten-billion level. Net profit attributable to the parent company was 681,920,000 TWD, down 35.81% year on year.

China Hangzhou Haoyue Personal Care Products Co., Ltd. achieved revenue of 718 million yuan in the third quarter of 2023, up 1.30% year on year. Net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed companies was approximately 110 million yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 8.88%.

Prices of pulp and base paper in major regional markets of tissue paper in China in October 2023
According to the survey data of China Tissue Paper & Disposable Products magazine, in October 2023, China’s imported bleached hardwood pulp board and imported bleached softwood pulp board experienced large price fluctuations, and the average price increased significantly compared with these of September. Affected by the rising price of imported wood pulp and other factors, China’s wood pulp and non-wood pulp prices have also risen to varying degrees.
Approval granted to China Guangzhou port pulp futures delivery warehouse
Recently, China Guangzhou Port Liangtong Company successfully obtained the qualification as a designated delivery warehouse for pulp futures at the Shanghai Futures Exchange. The initial approved capacity for this batch is 15,000 tons, with an immediate utilization of the same amount. This marks the first pulp futures delivery warehouse in the southern region of China. As the largest pulp distribution center in South China, Guangzhou Port Liangtong Company has already handled over 1 million tons of pulp from January to October this year.

Hengan (China) Paper Co., Ltd. was awarded the national-level green factory
Chinese Jiangmen paper industry transformation case selected as a typical example of “chain” digital transformation for Chinese small and medium-sized enterprises
On November 14, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the List of Typical Cases for 2023SME “Chain” Digital Transformation. A total of 66 cases were selected nationwide, and the transformation case of the Chinese Jiangmen paper industry (promoted by Guangzhou POI-TECH through the new path of “Industrial Internet + AI”, aiming to enhance the efficiency of the Jiangmen Xinhui paper industry cluster) successfully made it to the list.
On November 8, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the 2023 green manufacturing list, and Hengan (China) Paper Co., Ltd. was selected as a green factory. This is the third national-level green factory of Hengan Group following Hengan (Wuhu, China) Paper Co., Ltd., and Fujian Hengan Household Products Co., Ltd.

During this year’s 11.11 shopping festival, the tissue products category on JD.com in China showed a more segmented trend in consumer behavior. According to data released by JD Consumer and Industrial Development Research Institute, during the first week of JD.com’s 11.11 promotion (October 23 to 30), the total transaction volume of tissue products increased by 52% compared to the same period last year. Among them, the transaction volume of cotton soft tissues increased by 286%, baby cream tissues increased by 137%, facial tissues increased by 69%, and wet toilet tissues increased by 58%. Under the trend of refined consumption in daily necessities, tissue paper consumption has also shown characteristics of diversification and refinement. It focuses on “specialized paper for specific purposes”, expanding from toilet tissues and facial tissues to wet toilet tissues, kitchen towels, disinfectant wipes, baby cream tissues, and other specialized functional tissues. Online paper product consumption is undergoing a quality upgrade.

From November 1 to 3, 2023, the 5th China-Japan Hygiene Products Entrepreneurs Joint Meeting and the 7th Conference on Absorbent Hygiene Products and Wipes was successfully held in Malaysia. The conference attracted a total of 201 delegates from home and abroad, including 87 representatives from Japan and Southeast Asia. On November 1st, the joint meeting was held at Shangri-La Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with rich topics. China and Japan delivered 11 keynote speeches in all, and the enterprises of China, Japan, Southeast Asia and other countries and regions showed new materials and technologies in the exhibition area outside the venue, with the participants conducting in-depth exchanges on the industry development, enterprise cooperation and other topics. On November 2nd, more than 80 Chinese representatives visited Kuantan Port, Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park Planning Hall, Alliance Steel (M) Sdn. From October 31 to November 1, and November 7 to 8, the 37th plenary meeting of ISO/TC6/SC2 and the 33rd plenary meeting of ISO/TC6 of the International Organization for Standardization-Technical Committee on Paper, Board and Pulps were successfully held online. During the meetings, China National Pulp and Paper Research Institute successfully applied to host the 34th plenary meeting of ISO/TC6 and the 38th plenary meeting of ISO/TC6/SC2, along with related working group meetings, in Beijing from November 25 to 29, 2024.
