Recently, ANDRITZ once again supplied two PrimeLineCOMPACT M compact tissue machines to C&S's production site in Suqian Port Industrial Park, Jiangsu Province, China. The machines will operate at a maximum speed of 1,650 m/min, with a width of 3.5 m, and will be based on virgin market pulp, with a maximum production capacity of 94 tpd, for the production of tissue parent roll.

New crescent tissue machine supplied by Baoding Changda for Baoding Hengxin in China started up
Recently, Baoding Hengxin Paper started production of the crescent type tissue machine 3550-1300 provided by Baoding Changda Paper Machinery Co., Ltd. The paper machine has a width of 3,550mm, a design speed of 1,300m/min, and a single machine production capacity of about 20,000 tpy.

Guangxi Zhongsheng Paper’s annual output of 50,000t tissue paper and converting project approved
Recently, Guangxi Zhongsheng Paper’s project with annual output of 50,000 tons of tissue paper and converting was formally approved, and the project will start construction in Guigang City Industrial Park Wule sub-park. The project will be carried out in two phases with an annual output of 25,000 tons of tissue paper respectively, and include the corresponding plastic-pack facial tissue converting production line.

On May 31, Guigang Industrial Park Administrative Committee, Guigang Financial Investment Group, and Chongqing Port Aojiaxiang Paper Industry Co., Ltd successfully held the signing ceremony for the “Annual 130,000-tonne Tissue Paper Project”. Once fully put into production, the project is expected to produce approximately 130,000 tonnes of tissue paper per year, with an annual output value of about 1.7 billion yuan.

Hubei Jinboshi New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. successfully completed the first installation of drying cylinders
On June 15, Hubei Jinboshi New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. successfully completed the first installation of the drying cylinder for their annual production of 250,000 tons papermaking project. Upon completion of the entire project, it will establish a production capacity of 250,000 tons of high-end tissue paper.

Phase III of Kimberly-Clark’s Nanjing facility expansion project commenced
On June 12, the Kimberly-Clark Nanjing Facility Phase III Expansion Project invested and constructed by Kimberly-Clark (Nanjing) officially commenced in Jiangning Development Zone. The Nanjing facility is a crucial part of Kimberly-Clark’s industrial layout in China, serving as a production and research center integrating manufacturing, quality control, product innovation, engineering project management, and logistics. The expansion project is scheduled to begin construction in March 2025 and complete by April 2026.

C&S achieved an operating revenue of 1.845 billion RMB in Q1 2024
C&S Paper Co., Ltd. achieved operating revenue of approximately RMB 1.845 billion for the first quarter of 2024, a year-on-year decrease of 10.45%; net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company amounted to approximately RMB 95,450.01 million, a year-on-year increase of 6.72%.

China’s import and export of tissue paper and hygiene products in Q1 2024
In the first quarter of 2024, total imports of tissue paper amounted to 11100 tons, up 2700 tons year-on-year, with a tiny impact on the domestic market. Exports amounted to 313,500 tons and $619 million, both showing double-digit growth compared to the same period last year.
The import volume and import amount of absorbent hygiene products still continued the downward trend, with the total import volume decreasing sharply by 49.69% year-on-year, and the total import amount of US$41,400 decreasing by 48.96% year-on-year. The total export volume was 348,100 tons and the export amount was 968 million dollars, both of which maintained growth.
The import volume and import amount of wet wipes products continued the downward trend, in which the decline in the import volume of cleaning wipes is the main factor leading to the overall decline in the import volume of wet wipes products. The export volume of 19.10 million tons, a sharp increase of 58.63% year-on-year.

The price of pulp and parent rolls in major regional markets for tissue paper in China from April to May 2024
According to research data from the magazine Tissue Paper & Disposable Products, in April 2024, the prices of pulp in major regional markets for tissue paper in China showed increases across various types, except for unbleached bamboo pulp boards in the Sichuan-Chongqing region which remained unchanged. These increases exceeded 150 yuan per ton. The largest increase was observed in the price of imported bleached hardwood pulp boards in Hebei, with an average price rise of 313 yuan per ton compared to March.

Recently, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China released the Public Notice of the List of Energy Efficiency “Leaders” in Key Industries for the year of 2023. In the categories of toilet tissue parent roll and facial tissue parent roll, Hengan (China) Paper Co., Ltd. stood out and was successfully selected for the list.

CNPPRI attends Tissue Planet—Future Insights and visits Italian tissue paper equipment enterprises
From June 18 to 20, Tissue Planet—Future Insights, hosted by Italy’s Toscotec, was successfully held in Lucca, Italy. Five people including Cao Baoping, the Vice General Manager of CNPPRI and Vice Secretary-General of China National Household Paper Industry Association, Ge Jiming, Deputy Director of CNPPRI’s Household Paper Center, and Zhou Yang, Executive Editor of Tissue Paper & Disposable Products magazine were invited to attend and delivered keynote speeches at the conference.
Lucca and its surroundings gathered numerous globally renowned manufacturers of tissue paper equipment. During the event, the editorial and new media teams of Tissue Paper & Disposable Products conducted visits and reported on 11 local companies including Toscotec, Gambini, Futura, Acelli and Valmet Converting. They exchanged ideas and explored innovations and future trends in tissue paper equipment.
