On December 12th, Jinboshi Group’s Hubei base successfully started production of TM 10 and TM 11. The Hubei base project was officially signed on July 26, 2023, and construction commenced on December 2, 2023.TM 9, 12, 13, 14, and 15 will also begin production in December, with efforts underway to have TM 8 start simultaneously. These 8 tissue machines will have a combined production capacity of 160,000 tons per year.

Following the successful startup of the No. 10 and No. 11 tissue machines, the No. 9 tissue machine at China Jinboshi Group’s Hubei base was successfully launched on December 16. The subsequent No. 12, No. 13, No. 14, and No. 15 tissue machines are scheduled to start operation throughout December, with efforts to simultaneously commission the No. 8 hand towel machine. The total production capacity of the eight tissue machines is expected to reach 160,000 tons per year.

On December 18, the PM11 and PM12 for the tissue paper phrase II project of China Liansheng Pulp & Paper, successfully commenced operation. The two tissue machines are HC-1700CS/2850 crescent tissue machines provided by Hicredit. The remaining four Hicredit tissue machines are expected to be fully operational around the start of 2025. Liansheng Pulp & Paper placed a single order for six crescent tissue machines from Shandong Hicredit. Each machine is designed with a speed of 1,700 m/min, a width of 2,850 mm, and is equipped with Hicredit’s self-manufactured headbox and 16ft steel Yankee dryer. Each machine has a production capacity of 25,000 tons per year, for a combined total capacity of 150,000 tons per year. The machines also feature dust and mist removal systems, an online reel-pulling system, and a fully cantilevered design. The unique headbox structure is suitable for producing tissue paper with a basis weight of 10.5–25 g/m².

On December 3, the 18th meeting of Singapore Jiangsu Cooperation Council was held in Nanjing. During the meeting, the contract for the Sateri (Yancheng) Phase II and cogeneration project under Royal Golden Eagle Group was officially signed. The project is expected to be completed and put into operation in the first half of 2025, and upon completion, the annual production capacity of Sateri (Yancheng) will be increased to 370,000 tons.

On November 11, Trützschler China and Wangjin Group held a signing ceremony for the new Jinnuo Flushable Lines 2 & 3 in Changxing, Huzhou, Zhejiang. Wangjin Group has been committed to enhancing product quality and production efficiency through technological innovation and equipment upgrades. With the addition of the second and third Trützschler flushable nonwoven production lines, the group aims to provide more innovative and eco-friendly high-end materials for sectors such as healthcare and infant care.

On December 16, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China officially released the Green Factory List. Several companies from the tissue paper and hygiene products industry including Hebei Jinboshi, Shanghai Huayi, Unicharm (China), Naturecare, Vinda Paper (Zhejiang), Quanzhou Tianjiao, Shandong Huatai, Shandong Sun Paper, Hengan (Xiaogan), Kingstar, Winner Medical (Tianmen), Henkel Adhesives (Guangdong), Avery Dennison (Guangzhou), and Guizhou Kabu were successfully included.

According to the data from Tissue Paper & Disposable Products Magazine, in November 2024, the pulp prices in major regional markets of China showed an overall downward trend. With the exception of the average prices of bleached and natural color bamboo pulp boards in the Sichuan-Chongqing region, which remained unchanged, the average prices of other types of pulp all decreased. Among them, the average price of bleached bagasse wet pulp in Guangxi saw the largest decline, dropping by 275 RMB/t.

Among non-wood pulp materials, the average price of bleached bamboo pulp boards in the Sichuan-Chongqing region was 5,550 RMB/t, and the average price of natural color bamboo pulp boards in the region was 4,300 RMB/t, both remaining unchanged from October. In contrast to the overall decline in pulp prices, in November 2024, the prices of tissue parent roll in the tissue paper market remained stable across different regions. The average price of bleached bamboo pulp tissue parent roll in the Sichuan-Chongqing region saw only a slight fluctuation, while the average prices of various tissue parent rolls in other major regional markets remained unchanged.

On Thanksgiving Day, a time filled with blessings and care, Tissue Paper & Disposable Products magazine has organized a special feature titled “Caring with Love, Accompanying with Warmth: Science Popularizing on Elderly Care”. This initiative aims to provide scientific and professional guidance on topics such as elder care, respecting the elderly, and incontinence care. Through professional scientific publicity, it seeks to help families and the general public correctly understand these problems.

On December 11, NH-MHPA held its Annual General Meeting and 10th Anniversary Celebration in Foshan, Guangdong Province. Nearly 400 attendees participated, including local government officials, industry experts, representatives from related enterprises and members. Ms. Zhang Yulan, Secretary-General of China National Household Paper Industry Association (CNHPIA), was invited to the event and delivered a report titled “Overview of the Chinese Disposable Hygiene Products Industry.”

On the evening of November 28, during the wedding ceremony of Mr. Xu Qingqi and Ms. Ding Xiangni, the Xu Shudian family made another donation of 66,666,666 yuan to the Jinjiang Charity Federation. At the same time, the Xu Shudian Family Charity Fund donated 100 million yuan to the Fujian Charity Federation.

Recently, “GoldenKey — SDG Solutions Annual Event 2024” was held in Beijing. Asia Symbol (Shandong) Pulp and Paper Co., Ltd. received the “GoldenKey · Excellent SDG Solution” and the “GoldenKey · Colorful Star” awards.

Recently, China Hengan International Group received the highest honor at the “Outstanding ESG Enterprises Recognition Scheme 2024” in Hong Kong, winning the ESG Achievement Award 2024. The event was jointly organized by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Sing Tao News Corporation, with the aim of promoting the concepts of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices.

The fluff pulp factory jointly established by China COCO and Guangxi Hanggang Material Technology Co., Ltd. in Guigang, Guangxi, has now essentially achieved its designed production capacity. Covering an area of 30,000 square meters with a total Phase I investment of 120 million yuan, the factory boasts an annual fluff pulp production capacity of 80,000 tons. By building its own fluff pulp factory, COCO has successfully extended its industrial layout upstream, enhancing its ability to control raw material costs, ensuring the stability and consistency of key raw materials, strengthening supply chain resilience, and boosting the company’s core competitiveness.

Recently, a delegation from Hikvision China visited Sun Paper Industry in Jining, Shandong, to discuss and exchange ideas on future cooperation directions with the management team. The two companies have established long-term cooperation and have implemented a series of information technology and intelligent solutions across various plants, including paper-making, pulping, chemicals, and power generation. Going forward, both sides will explore the digital application of on-site scenarios and work together to promote the digital transformation of the paper industry.

On December 18, China Hulijia Group held its 30th-anniversary celebration in Luyi, Henan Province. Nearly a thousand attendees participated in the event, including representatives from the government, industry associations, upstream and downstream partners, and company employees. Dr. Cao Zhenlei, Chairman of China National Household Paper Industry Association (CNHPIA), was invited to attend the event and delivered a speech.

From November 18 to 21, the Hygienix 2024 Conference, organized by the International Nonwovens and Disposables Association (INDA), was successfully held in the United States. Sun Jing, executive editor of Tissue Paper & Disposable Products magazine and deputy secretary-general of China National Hygiene Products Industry Association, along with Wang Juan, executive deputy editor of the magazine, were invited to attend the conference and delivered keynote speeches. The event brought together over 500 industry experts and corporate representatives from around the world to discuss topics such as market dynamics, sustainable strategies, and new material development in the hygiene products sector, fostering innovation and sustainable development within the industry.

From November 25 to 29, the 34th Plenary Meeting of ISO/TC 6 and the 38th Plenary Meeting of ISO/TC 6/SC 2 were held in Beijing. The event was organized by Standardization Administration of China and hosted by the China National Pulp and Paper Research Institute, which is affiliated with Poly Sinolight. This marks China’s second time hosting the international conference since 1995, highlighting China’s significant strength and influence in the field of international standardization in the paper-making industry. As the Chinese technical counterpart for both ISO/TC 6 and ISO/TC 6/SC 2, the China National Pulp and Paper Research Institute organized a delegation of 13 domestic experts to attend the conference.

Recently, at the 38th plenary meeting of the ISO/TC 6/SC 2, the Amendment proposal for the international standard “ISO 12625-8: 2010 Tissue paper and tissue products—Part 8: Water-absorption time and water-absorption capacity, basket-immersion test method”, led by the China National Pulp and Paper Research Institute was officially established after deliberation. Chinese experts have been appointed as project leaders to undertake the standard drafting.
