New Projects
According to the latest research summary of CNHPIA, the industry newly put into modernized production capacity about 1.753 million tpy, with a total of 68 tissue machines, including 53 domestic tissue machines and 15 imported tissue machines from January to December in 2023. Among them, 309,000 tpy were put into production in the first quarter, 501,000 tpy in the second quarter, 357,000 tpy in the third quarter, and 586,000 tpy in the fourth quarter. For the whole year of 2023, the industry originally planned to put into modernized production capacity of 2.731million tpy. But it actually put into production 1.753million tpy, which resulted nearly 1 million tpy capacity was postponed to put into production. With more and more intense market competition, the enterprises should invest cautiously.

China Baotuo successfully started up a TM in Vietnam
In December 2023, the BC1100-2850 crescent high-speed tissue machine provided by Baotuo, a subsidiary of China Baosuo Enterprise Group, was successfully put into operation at Vietnam Xingsheng Paper Co., Ltd. This tissue machine has a width of 2.85 meters, a design speed of 1,100 m/min, and an annual production capacity of approximately 16,000 tons. Not only does this machine achieve high industry standards in terms of speed and capacity, but it also focuses on energy efficiency and cost reduction, effectively reducing the cost per ton of tissue.
Recently, China Hengan Group and Baotuo Paper Machinery, a subsidiary corporation of China Baosuo Enterprises Group,signed another contract to order four high-speed crescent-type tissue machines, which will be put into operation in Chongqing Hengan Paper Base in 2024. The contracted paper machine model is BC1800-3650, with a design speed of 1800m/min and a design width of 3,650mm.

China Liaoning Yusen Sanitary Health Supplies Co., Ltd. put TM5 into operation smoothly
On December 20, 2023, China Liaoning Yusen Sanitary Health Supplies Co., Ltd. put TM5 into operation smoothly, which enables an increase in the annual production capacity of Yusen by 30,000 tons, further expanding Yusen’s advantages in high efficiency, energy saving, and low carbon environmental protection.
Shanghai Qingliang’s two tissue machines were successfully put into production at the same time in Taison, Suzhou, China
On January 4, TM67 and TM68 supplied by Shanghai Qingliang to Suzhou Taison in China were successfully started up and produced paper at the same time. Since September 2023, Suzhou Taison has successfully started up six crescent tissue machines.

China’s Hainan Jinhai Pulp & Paper starts new project to add 160,000 tpy tissue paper
On December 24, 2023, the green recycling industry chain project (Phase I) of biodegradable high-end tissue products of China Hainan Jinhai Pulp & Paper Corporation. The main content of the project includes production lines with an annual output of 160,000 tons of high-grade tissue paper and other production lines, supporting the construction of production lines with an annual output of 800,000 tons of chemical machine pulp and other production lines.
Baoding Weituo Paper Machinery in China provides tissue machine rebuild services for Hubei Zhencheng Paper Co., Ltd.
On January 3rd, China Weituo Machinery once again delivered another rebuilt tissue machine (TM35) with the same type to Hubei Zhencheng Paper in China, which started up smoothly. The machine started up with a stable speed of 1,300 m/min and achieved perfect results in terms of steam and power consumption.

On January 17th, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) released the population data for 2023. At the end of 2023, the national population including the population of 31 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government, and the population of active-duty military personnel was 1,409.67millon people, a decrease of 0.208 million people compared with the end of the previous year. But Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residents and foreigners residing in 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government were excluded. In 2023, 9.02 million babies were born, resulting in a birth rate of 6.39 per thousand people. Meanwhile, 11.1 million people died in 2023, equal to a death rate of 7.87 per thousand people, the data showed. The natural population growth rate was negative 1.48 per thousand people, the NBS said.

A number of Chinese companies related to the tissue paper industry are included in Guangdong’s management for carbon emissions and trading in 2023
Recently, the Department of Ecology and Environment of Guangdong Province released the Guangdong’s Carbon Emission Allowance Management (2023 Edition). 53 paper enterprises included in the scope of carbon emission management and trading in Guangdong for the year 2023. These related enterprises included Dongguan Darling Paper Co., Ltd, C&S Paper Co., Ltd, Jiangmen C&S Paper Industry Co., Ltd., and Vinda Paper (China) Co., Ltd. Jiangmen Wangjia Paper Co., Ltd., Guangdong Lee&Man Paper Co., Ltd., Guangdong Dingfeng Paper Co., Ltd, and Asia Symbol (Guangdong) Paper Co., Ltd. are also included.
The development of China Sun Paper’s Beihai base is promising, with strong production and sales of products
Since 2023, China Guangxi Sun Paper Co., Ltd.’s Beihai base has been actively promoting lean management and continuously improving innovation efficiency. The company’s paper products have achieved a prosperous production and sales situation, showing a faster and better development trend. Currently, the Beihai base of Sun Paper has completed the construction and operation of 12 pulp and paper production lines. From January to October 2023, the pulp and paper production reached 3.04 million tons with a value of 10.5 billion yuan, representing a growth of 21.6% compared to the same period in 2022.

China Hengan Group’s “Hengkuaiyue” platform reservation management system goes online nationwide
Recently, the platform reservation management system of China Hengan Group “Hengkuaiyue” was formally launched nationwide.
