China Jiangxi Lee＆Man started up TM36 supplied by Baotuo
On November 27, TM36 of China Jiangxi Lee＆Man Paper Co., Ltd. was put into operation, and reached design speed. This Baotuo BC1300-2850 crescent tissue machine is included in the third phase project of the enterprise, with a capacity of 300,000tpy. The machine has a design speed of 1,300m/min and a width of 2,850mm.
China Baotuo plans to start up 36 tissue machines before the Spring Festival in China
In the fourth quarter of 2021, Baotuo Paper Equipment, a subsidiary of China Baosuo Group, successively started up a total of 12 tissue machines in many projects in China. According to the plan, before the Spring Festival of China in 2022, Baotuo will start up another 24 tissue machines in more than ten enterprises, including China C&S, Hengan, Shaoneng, Lee & Man and Botare in China.

China Hengan Group started up its PM29 supplied by Baotuo
On December 26, the subsidiary of China Hengan Group in Jinjiang, Fujian Province started up its PM29, supplied by Baotuo. The vacuum cylinder tissue machine has a design speed of 1,000m/min and a width of 2,860mm. It mainly produces high-end absorbent lining paper parent roll.
Andritz provided the second semi-cross lapping spunlaced nonwovens production line for Zhejiang Desolar New Energy Technology
In September 2020 and February 2021, Andritz Group signed two semi-cross lapping spunlaced nonwovens production lines with China Zhejiang Desolar New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. In November 2021, Zhejiang Desolar successfully started up the first neXline aXcess semi-cross lapping spunlaced nonwovens production line provided by Andritz. The second production line will be put into operation in the second quarter of 2022.

China Guangxi Sun Paper started up TM6 supplied by Andritz
On December 24, the second tissue machine (TM6) of China Guangxi Sun Paper, supplied by Andritz, was successfully put into operation. The machine has a width of 5.65m, a design speed of 2,000m/min and a capacity of more than 60,000tpy. It is equipped with a large vacuum press roll, an 18-foot steel Yankee cylinder and a re-evaporation system.

Andritz will supply Liansheng Pulp and Paper (Zhangzhou, China) Co., Ltd. with two PrimeLineTM W 2000 crescent tissue machines, pulp preparation systems, automation systems, flow systems and broke systems. The tissue machines have a design speed of 2,000m/min and a width of 5.65m. They are equipped with large-diameter vacuum rollers and PrimeDry steel Yankee cylinders with a diameter of 20 feet. The tissue machines are expected to be put into operation in the second quarter of 2022.

Gold Hongye started up the 7th Valmet tissue machine at the base in Nantong, China
On November 8, Gold Hongye Paper (Nantong, China) of APP Group started up a Valmet (PMP) crescent tissue machine. The machine has a width of 3.6m and a design speed of 1,600m/min. It mainly produces tissue parent roll with a grammage of 11.5g/㎡ to 22g/㎡ and a capacity of more than 30,000tpy.
The machine is the seventh Valmet tissue machine put into operation at Nantong base of Gold Hongye this year. The eighth Valmet tissue machine of the same type is planned to be put into operation in December. The capacity of the Nantong base will reach 240,000tpy.
On November 23, China Light Industry Chengdu Design & Engineering Co., Ltd. and China Sichuan Jinfu Paper Co., Ltd. signed the General Contract for Tissue Paper Project of Sichuan Jinfu Paper Co., Ltd. The project includes four 2850/1300 tissue paper production lines and two 2850/600 high grammage tissue paper production lines.

The first high-speed tissue machine of China Guangxi Jiasheng Paper was put into operation successfully
On November 20, the first high-speed tissue machine of China Guangxi Jiasheng Paper was put into operation successfully. The machine is supplied by Shandong Fujia Dazheng Machinery, with a width of 2,850mm, a design speed of 1,300m/min and a design capacity of 20,000tpy.
It is reported that Guangxi Jiasheng Paper plans to introduce five high-speed tissue machines and related equipment for the tissue paper project with a capacity of 100,000tpy.
Recently, China Xi'an Weiya and China Fujian Youxi Yongfengmao Paper successfully signed a crescent tissue machine supply contract. The tissue machine has a width of 2,850mm, a design speed of 1,400m/min and a capacity of 20,000tpy.

New Projects
In December, four crescent tissue machines (TM38, TM39, TM40 and TM41) of Jiangxi Taison Paper Co., Ltd., supplied by Shanghai Qingliang Industry Co., Ltd., were successfully put into operation. The high-efficiency and energy-saving crescent tissue machines have a width of 2,850mm, a design speed of 1300m/min and a design capacity of 20,000tpy.
Unicharm (China) signed with GLP (China) to build automated warehouses
Recently, Unicharm (China) and GLP held a signing ceremony for the automated warehouse project in Qingpu Industrial Park, Shanghai, China. Unicharm and its third-party logistics service provider, Dateng Logistics, have cooperated with GLP and its G2Link Technology. GLP will provide Unicharm with integrated warehousing and automation solutions, which are expected to be completed by the end of 2021 and will be put into operation in the second half of 2022.

China Tongling Jieya successfully listed on Shenzhen Stock Exchange
On December 3, China Tongling Jieya Biologic Technology Co., Ltd. was officially listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
At the listing ceremony, Dr. Cao Zhenlei, director of CNHPIA, expressed his warmest congratulations on Jieya’s initial A-share public offering in a video.
The public offering issued 20.3 million shares and raised a total of 1.16 billion yuan. The funds are mainly used for such projects as the capacity expansion of multi-functional wet wipes, the upgrading of the technology research and development center and the intelligent transformation of warehousing.

On November 29, at the 2021 (4th) Social Responsibility Conference, China Hengan Group was awarded the “Honour-2021 Gold Award for Responsibility” after nomination, recommendation and deliberation by the jury. Hui Ching Lau, President of Hengan Group, won the “Honour-Remarkably Influential Person of 2021”.

The 28th China International Advertising Festival was held in Xiamen from December 10 to 13. Space 7 and PiNO, two brands of Hengan Group, won the title of “College Students’ Favorite Dynamic Brands”. Newly-launched projects in Chinese tissue paper industry from January to November 2021 - overheated new projects and overcapacity
According to the statistics of China National Household Paper Industry Association (CNHPIA), the cumulative capacity in Chinese tissue paper industry from January to November 2021 is more than 2.3 million tpy. In addition, there are some projects that have been put into operation but have not been made public. Therefore, the cumulative new capacity from January to November has significantly exceeded the total new capacity of 2020. It is expected that overcapacity will be further intensified and market competition will be more intense. Industry enterprises should be cautious in investment.
In November 2021, pulp futures led the gains in Chinese commodity futures market
In November 2021, the price increase of pulp futures topped the list in Chinese commodity futures market. According to Wind, as of November 30, 2021, dominant contracts of pulp futures rose 13.24% in November after excluding inactive commodity trading data. As of the close, dominant contracts of pulp futures reported 5,626 yuan/t.

China’s FMCG market recovered moderately in the first three quarters
On December 16, Bain & Company joined hands with Kantar Worldpanel to release the China Shopper Report Vol II. The report shows that in the first three quarters of 2021, sales volumes and values of FMCG in China increased by 3.3% and 3.6% respectively, achieving a moderate recovery.

Recently, China C&S launched the “You Buy, I Donate” activity again on JD.com. The enterprise promised to directly donate 1% of the total transaction amount of all C&S goods in its JD.com

China Paper Association authoritatively issued the Outline of the 14th Five-Year Period and Medium- and Long-Term High-quality Development of Paper Industry
Recently, the Outline of the 14th Five-Year Period and Medium- and Long-Term High-quality Development of Paper Industry has been discussed, approved and released by the Fifth Council of China Paper Association. The outline points out the problems and development goals that need to be solved urgently in the industry and encourages industry enterprises to consolidate their foundation and achieve high-quality development.
Dr. Cao Zhenlei visited China Baosuo Group
On November 25, Dr. Cao Zhenlei, Director of CNHPIA, visited Baosuo Group. He visited the R&D workshop and mask production workshop of Baosuo headquarter in Sanshan, and investigated its four subsidiaries, including Baotuo Paper Machinery Engineering, Baosuo Converting, Baojin Packaging and Xinbao Mask.
During the visit, Dr. Cao put forward valuable suggestions to Baosuo Group and highly appraised its rapid development.

CNHPIA recruits drafting units and drafters for two group standards of “High Quality Tissue Paper” and “High Quality Hygiene Products”
The two approved group standard projects of “High Quality Tissue Paper” and “High Quality Hygiene Products” drafted by CNPPRI and CNHPIA will serve as an important basis for the evaluation of “Goods with Craftsmanship” in tissue paper and hygiene products industry. At the same time, these two standards are also an important measure to implement the National Standardization Development Outline, promoting industrialization upgrading and improving standards and quality level of consumer goods. We are looking for drafting units to participate in the drafting of the two standards.
