China’s tissue paper industry put 624,000 tons of new production capacity into operation in the first quarter of 2022 — new production capacity maintains rapid growth
According to the research of CNHPIA, from January to March 2022, the industry put about 624,000 tons of new modern capacity into operation, including 27 tissue machines made by Chinese suppliers and 1 imported tissue machine. The new production capacity maintains the rapid growth trend in 2021, mainly for the expansion projects of large- and medium-sized enterprises.
China Vinda successfully started up 4 hybrid tissue machines provided by Valmet
In order to further increase its market share, China Vinda put 4 hybrid tissue production lines provided by Valmet into operation to produce differentiated tissue products with low energy consumption, whose energy costs are significantly lower than other mature structural tissue production technologies. These four tissue machines were all started up within five months, allowing Vinda to add additional capacity of 150,000 tpy.

China Taison(Jiangxi)successfully put TM11 into production
On April 12, Taison(Jiangxi)Household Products Co., Ltd. successfully put TM11 into production. The new crescent tissue machine was provided by Shandong Xinhe, with a width of 3,600mm and a design speed of 800m/min, and is mainly used for producing hand towels from commercial wood pulp.
Guangxi Jiasheng Paper successfully put TM2 into production
On March 26, Guangxi Jiasheng Paper Co., Ltd. successfully put its second tissue machine into production. This new crescent tissue machine was provided by Shandong Fujia Dazheng Machinery, with a width of 2,850mm, a design speed of 1,300m/min, and a design capacity of 20,000 tpy. The operation of the new tissue machine enables the capacity of Jiasheng Paper’s parent tissue roll to reach 40,000 tpy which also marks the formal completion and operation of its first phase project.
It is reported that Jiasheng Paper plans to introduce five automatic, high-performance and high-speed tissue machines and supporting equipment for the phased tissue paper project with a capacity of 100,000tpy. In October 2020, the company successfully signed a contract with Shandong Fujia Dazheng Machinery for two 2850/1300 new crescent tissue machines.

Aishule launched two wipes-used spunlaced nonwovens production lines
Shandong Aishule invested in two advanced spunlaced nonwovens production lines, and completed the trial run in March for official operation.
The two spunlaced nonwovens production lines were both provided by Hi-tech Heavy Industry. The main raw materials include wood pulp, polyester or poly-cotton blended fibers. The products can be widely used in civil cleaning, medical and health care, synthetic leather base cloth, industrial filter materials and other fields. The two production lines’ daily capacity of 70 tons and a total capacity of 25,000 tpy.
China Grace New Materials Co. has put 6 production lines into operation for the bio-based fiber composite new material project
On China Yibin Grace New Materials Co., Ltd. has put 6 production lines into operation for the intelligent manufacturing of bio-based fiber composite materials with an annual capacity of 100,000 tons, including 5 spunlaced nonwovens production lines and 1 compressed towel production line. The first phase of the project has been completed and put into operation, and the overall progress of the second phase has been over 50%. In addition, the sixth spunlaced nonwovens production line is being installed and is scheduled to started up soon.

Vanov Holdings announced a net profit of 50.13 million yuan in 2021
In 2021, Vanov Holdings’ revenue was about 214 million yuan (including 10.955 million yuan of tissue papermaking felts), an increase of 16.9% compared with 2020, mainly due to the increase in sales of medium- and high-speed felts. Its gross margin decreased from approximately 54.5% in 2020 to approximately 53.2% in 2021, mainly due to changes in product mix and higher raw material costs.
China Jingxing Paper achieved operating income of 315 million yuan from its tissue business in 2021
On April 15, China Zhejiang Jingxing Paper Co., Ltd. released its 2021 performance report. In 2021, its operating income was about 6.225 billion yuan, up about 27.70% year on year, among which, the revenue from tissue business was about 315 million yuan, up 6.79% year on year.

On April 23, China Hangzhou Coco Healthcare Products Co., Ltd. released its 2021 annual report. In 2021, its operating income was about 1.186 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 27.44%. Its net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was about 39.7453 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 81.43%.
Among them, the sales revenue from baby care products amounted to 612 million yuan, down 34.81% year on year; and the sales revenue from adult incontinent products achieved 464 million yuan, up 8.07% year on year.

On April 21, China Winner Medical Co., Ltd. released its 2021 annual report. In 2021, its operating income was 8.037 billion yuan, down 35.87% year on year. Its net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was 1.239 billion yuan, down 67.48% year on year.
During the reporting period, the sales revenue from medical consumables business reached 3.922 billion yuan, down 56.03% from 2020 and up 160.69% from 2019.

The sales revenue from healthy consumer goods business achieved 4.054 billion yuan in 2021, up 15.27% from 2020 and up 34.79% from 2019. Among them, the revenue from cotton soft wipes was about 963 million yuan; the revenue from sanitary napkins was about 548 million yuan; the revenue from wet wipes was about 177 million yuan; and the revenue from other nonwovens consumer goods was about 447 million yuan.

In 2021, Chongqing Baiya’s operating income was about 1.46 billion yuan, an increase of about 16.97% year on year. Its net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was about 228 million yuan, an increase of about 24.89% year on year.

China Jieya Cooperation achieved operating income of 984 million yuan in 2021
On April 11, China Jieya Cooperation released its 2021 performance report. In 2021, the operating income was about 984 million yuan, an increase of about 32.49% year on year. Its net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was about 220 million yuan, an increase of about 22.50% year on year.
China Vinda International reported operating income of HK $4.566 billion in Q1 2022
On April 22, China Vinda International Holdings Limited released its report for the first quarter of 2022, with total revenue of HK $4.566 billion, up 2.2% year on year. Among them, tissue paper business amounted to HK $3.671 billion, and personal care products business amounted to HK $895 million.
During the reporting period, Vinda’s gross profit decreased 12.9% year on year to HK $1.512 billion. Its net profit was HK $344 million, down 37.8 % year on year.

China Coco achieved operating income of 322 million yuan in Q1 2022
On April 23, China Coco released its report for the first quarter of 2022. The operating income was about 322 million yuan, down 3.34% year on year. Its net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was about 1,957,500 yuan, down 95.14% year on year, mainly caused by the decrease in gross margin due to the increase in raw material costs and transportation expenses.
China Winner Medical achieved operating income of 2.322 billion yuan in Q1 2022, up 2.37% year on year
On April 22, China Winner Medical Co., Ltd. released its report for the first quarter of 2022, with operating income of 2.322 billion yuan, up 2.37% year on year. Its net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was 357 million yuan, down 25.69% year on year.
Among them, the medical consumables sector achieved income of 1.407 billion yuan in this quarter, down 1.71% year on year. The healthy consumer goods sector achieved income of 890 million yuan in this quarter, up 8.76% year on year.

China State Council: special additional deduction for individual income tax for nursing infants under the age of 3
On March 28, the State Council released the Notice on the Special Additional Deduction for Individual Income Tax for Nursing Infants under the Age of 3, which stipulated that taxpayers’ related expenses for nursing infants under three years old will be deducted at a standard rate of RMB 1,000 per month for each child. The deduction, effective from January 1, 2022, can be applied in full by one parent or can be split evenly, and the specific deduction method cannot be changed within one tax year.

Enterprises in the China’s tissue and hygiene industry donated money and materials to support the fight against COVID-19
Hengan Group
On March 27, China Hengan Group donated 10 million yuan in cash to support the fight against COVID-19. This is the second donation from Hengan Group since the new round of COVID-19 outbreak in Quanzhou.
On April 13, Hengan Group donated 6 million yuan of materials to support Shanghai in combating COVID-19, including 5 million yuan donated through China Children and Teenagers’ Found and 1 million yuan through Zhongnanshan Medical Foundation of Guangdong Province and other organizations.
APP
APP donated another 10 million yuan in supplies and cash to help Shanghai fight against COVID-19.
In March 2022, another 10 million yuan in supplies and cash donated by APP was allocated to Shanghai Overseas Chinese Foundation, and was redeployed in the first time to centralized isolation points in Shanghai and all key communities, colleges and universities, hospitals, and basic units.
Also, APP’s Rudong tissue paper production base directly supplied 300 tons of tissue products under its Breeze, Elis and other brands to several mobile cabin hospitals in Shanghai.

Recently, the COVID-19 pandemic in Shanghai has touched the hearts of people all over China. China BABO developed the assistance program instantly. On April 10, the first batch of BABO healthy unbleached bamboo tissue donated to Shanghai mobile cabin hospitals headed out to Shanghai. The total value of the donated materials is 5 million yuan.

Two Chinese group standards of “Products with Craftsmanship — Tissue Paper” and “Products with Craftsmanship — Disposable Hygiene Products” were approved for publication
On April 21, China Technical Association of Paper Industry issued the Notice of Approval for the Publication of “Products with Craftsmanship—Tissue Paper” and “Products with Craftsmanship—Disposable Hygiene Products” Group Standards, and approved the publication of the two group standards, which will be implemented from May 1, 2022.
The draft of the two group standards was headed by China National Pulp and Paper Research Institute Co., Ltd. and joined by Sinolight (Jinjiang) Hygiene Products Research Co., Ltd., a number of Chinese representative enterprises in tissue paper and hygiene products industry and well-known e-commerce platforms. The publication of the two group standards has important guiding significance for improving the quality of tissue paper and hygiene products, meeting the upgraded needs of consumers and promoting the high-quality development of the industry.

The 29th China International Disposable Paper Expo (CIDPEX2022) postponed

The revision of two international standards led by China National Pulp and Paper Research Institute Co., Ltd. successfully passed DIS voting
On April 14 and April 18, the revised “Paper, board and pulp — Analysis of fiber furnish — Part 1: General method” and “Paper, board and pulp — Standard atmosphere for conditioning and testing and monitoring procedures” led by the China National Pulp and Paper Research Institute Co., Ltd. successfully passed DIS voting, with the high approval rating of 95% and 100%, respectively. The revision of the standards effectively promoted China’s independent research results and enhanced China’s influence in the field of international standardization of papermaking.
