Dear my friends in Molex Shanghai,

I am very honored to meet all of you through “Shanghai Outlook”, the newly released Molex Shanghai Business Newsletter!Since March, when the Pandemic situation in Shanghai became escalated, my biggest concern has always been health and safety of all of our employees and their families of Molex Shanghai. I was deeply touched by the cohesion, entrepreneurial spirit, vitality and dedication by all of you in this difficult and critical time when your daily lives and work are significantly impacted by the lockdown. 

The Pandemic control and sudden lockdown of Shanghai since March mandated us to make urgent and significant changes in work as well as personal life to support the government’s action on pandemic prevention. At the beginning, we thought the lockdown would only be lasted for 4 days or 8 days at the longest, but now it has passed over one and half months already. I am really respecting your unbelievable patience and mindset of helping your colleagues under such a stressful and intolerable situation. During the period, Shanghai Business Lead team and all managers are keeping regular communication with their employees to ensure everyone is under good health and engaged in his roles and responsibilities as well. It is also very impressive to hear that our employees who are living in the plant from March have been volunteering some of plant logistic supporting inclusive of food delivery help, gardening, self-haircut and others. With your dedication, contribution and great teamwork, all of our employees in the plant can keep their physical and mental health under such a difficult environment. 
Even though all the supply chain has not been working as normal so that we do not have enough raw materials, components and other supplies, the Shanghai lead-team has always tried to keep the customer service better and could minimize

I've noticed when such big change came, Molex Shanghai employees have not chosen to be passive, negative, complaining to external environment with a victim mindset, neither you have chosen to wait for others to solve problem on behalf of you, hope to get top-down guidelines from Division or Corporate, instead, what you have chosen was to take the full accountability to own the headwinds and challenges with deep sense of urgency, agility and principled entrepreneurship. With the leadership of Molex Shanghai BLT and BCP team supported by all employees, we quickly come out with effective BCP plans based on comprehensive scenario planning on operation, logistics, EHS, workforce management and employee care. In the factory, we have 520+ employee stay and work in the factory to ensure the continuity of production to meet our customer needs, outside of the factory, our employees in various functions are working remotely to support our customers and operations. This is indeed a vivid example of MBM application, that the MBM guiding principles have internalized in the mind of Molex Shanghai employees.
The name of this business newsletter is "Shanghai Outlook", this reminds of me about “outlook” of our business and our lives in future. I think everyone is curious about when the pandemic ends, when Shanghai lockdown is lifted, when everything be back to normal. Unfortunately, no one knows the exact answer, however, I know that you will come over these difficulties as you have done so far. While external headwind seems out of our control and there might be one after another, the magic to weathering and navigate all the uncertainty is agility, breakthrough and collaboration which is exactly what Shanghai team demonstrated in front of this crisis. Whereas we cannot predict what would come to us again in the future, we would definitely know all these challenges will make us more resilient and stronger.
My dear Molex Shanghai friends, I would appreciate again and ask you continuously to prioritize your and your family’s health and safety. During the overwhelming and difficult time, we will do our best to support all of you. I wish I could meet you in person soon in Shanghai with a big smile!

You can check the performance of each business unit carefully and find that these achievements are mainly from the three main BUs of Molex Shanghai. In the first quarter, the sales revenue of MSBU and CSBU increased by 19% and 64% respectively year-over-year, while PSBU represented by Micro-Fit and MiniFit products increased by 44%. We invested a lot of resources in the PMI, MirrorMezz new product development and the expansion of PSBU stamping and assembly capacity last year, which will bring us huge returns this year.
However, a sudden outbreak of COVID in March immediately stalled our business. The long-term and strict pandemic lockdown policy has had a huge adverse impact on our personnel and machine configuration, material and spare parts supply and product delivery and shipment. As shown in the above figure, the sales revenue in April fell 32% compared with that in March, a new low in the past 14 months. In addition, the situation we are facing in May is still not optimistic, and it is expected that the delivery and shipment volume of the third party will even fall to only half of that in March again.Even in the face of such a difficult situation, relying on the more than 520 employees still in the plant and the close cooperation between the logistics department and major suppliers, we still maintained a startup rate of about 50% to 60% in April and May, which will reduce the cost difference caused by insufficient capacity operation.
This year will be full of challenges for Molex Shanghai. However, we still believe that with the improvement of the pandemic, we will be able to quickly return to the normal operation track, and finally achieve the annual sales and profit goals by relying on the strong internal driving force of MBM and digital transformation tools such as MOS / Fusion.

I'm glad to share with you the financial performance of Molex Shanghai in the first four months of this year. With the joint efforts of all colleagues, Molex Shanghai has set a new record of sales and profits in the past 2021 fiscal year. Our business continued to maintain strong growth in the first quarter of 2022. The sales revenue increased by 34% over the same period last year, and the gross profit margin increased by 7%. Compared with the fourth quarter of last year, the two increased by 8% and 4% respectively.

BCP is the abbreviation of Business Continuity Plan, which includes members of Julia Huang, Lucy Li, Liu Yun, Steven Song, Forest Liu, Liu Gang, Murphy Miao, Jasper Lei, etc.
The two-month lasting lockdown is a challenge for any enterprise. It is such a difficult task to manage the work and life of more than 520 people well on the premise of staying indoors. Facing unprecedented pressure regarding the continuous operation of the factory, logistics distribution and the collection of daily necessities, we made all guarantees in place. In more than two months, the BCP team has looked out for one another, overcame various challenges, achieved the miracle of zero infection and maintained more than 50% of the operation continuously.

Looking back on the past two months, we practiced the spirit of agility, breakthrough, and collaboration, and fully launched the implementation of all our work including anti-pandemic and supply guarantee.
The General Affairs Team made good preparation at the early stage. It began to prepare various measures to deal with the changes and collect the supplies two weeks prior to the lockdown.
The Production Emergency Response Team has made various simulated responses based on customers’ needs and supply chain configurations to ensure better management of changes in the midst of changes.

The sense of responsibility and leadership shown are particularly prominent during the toughest times. No matter what the source of chaos is, BCP team has always adhered to the principle of responsibility first, kept calm, gathered collective strength, formed a strong cooperative force, and efficiently promoted the smooth operation of all work. At the same time, I also realized that the most reliable and practical experience often comes from the most severe challenges. I would like to thank every member of our BCP team for their selfless dedication and outstanding leadership during the toughest times, as well as all employees. Fight the pandemic

From March 18 to March 19, 2022, the company experienced a two-day closed-loop lockdown detection management organized by Waigaoqiao Administration. The company has prepared damp proof mats, sleeping mats, sleeping bags, socks, disposable underwear, toiletries and other living and food materials for 557 onsite employees. The employees underwent two rounds of nucleic acid testing during the lockdown period, with all the results negative, successfully completing the first round of "grid" inspection. The factory lifted lockdown at 8:30 a.m. on March 20.
The factory then conducted the second round of antigen testing for two days on March 26 and March 27, 2022. A total of 714 employees in three classes of the company received antigen test, with all the test results negative, successfully completing the second round of pandemic prevention screening.
Then the third round of "static lockdown" was urgently released on the evening of March 27, 2022, and implemented in Pudong, Punan and adjacent areas. The company urgently deployed production and operation staff to enter the factory to meet customer needs and the continuous operation of the factory. At 5 a.m. on April 1, all districts in Puxi also entered static lockdown one after another. So far the whole Shanghai was paused. More than 520 employees are onsite in the factory, including six functional departments of assembly, molding, plating, stamping, warehouse and facility affairs and a part of the third-party logistics staff. The Shanghai factory has formed a closed-loop management and established "Molex Home".

Go where there is pandemic, fight it till it perishes. Molex Shanghai has always maintained "Level-I emergency response" in COVID pandemic prevention.
The pandemic situation in Shanghai has been grim since March this year. The management of the company attached great importance to this and made a rapid response to improve the BCP emergency response plan. In early March, new pandemic prevention requirements and control measures were strictly deployed for external suppliers, visitors and vehicles. At the same time, some living supplies were urgently purchased for reserve and some preliminary plans were made predictably.

"Molex Home" completed five rounds of nucleic acid testing and 25 antigen tests by May 2nd, 2022, and has successfully maintained all negative test results. "Molex Home" provided a safe, healthy and stable working environment and guarantee for our onsite employees in the factory, and formed a virtuous cycle of mutual benefit between the company and employees.
In the 30 days of lockdown, the onsite employees fully demonstrated their entrepreneurial spirit, overcome many difficulties and inconveniences in life, ensured the normal operation of the production line and created great value for the company. Meanwhile, the management also demonstrated its ability to respond to emergencies and actively dealt with and solved the problems and challenges from time to time during the lockdown period. For example, the bathing problems, the shortage of drugs and materials during the physiological period of female employees at the initial stage of lockdown, and the sudden diseases and family emergencies of employees have been quickly judged and properly handled. With the recent emergence of positive cases in some organizations near our company, all takeout and express delivery other than emergency drugs urgently needed by employees were cut off. The employees also expressed a high degree of understanding and support for the company's decision and were willing to guard together to ensure the safety of onsite employees. While onsite in the factory, the company also provided employees with additional food resources (vitamin C and compound vitamin B, Self-heating pot, instant noodles, spiced corned eggs, bibimbap sauce, fruits, and biscuits, coke, etc.) to provide employees with sufficient nutrition. There were generalists who stick to ordinary posts: psychological counselors, women's friends, canteen kitchen helpers, barbers, gardeners….

The smooth operation of the factory is also inseparable from the dedication of the home office staff, especially the strong support of the logistics support team. The onsite employees inside or outside the factory are closely united under the common goal, and Molex people will work together to achieve the goal of building a CCS flagship factory.
In this special period, we are confident that under the leadership of the company's management, the cooperation of onsite employees and the support of the home office team, we will continue to operate smoothly until the end of the lockdown of the whole city!

Employees always stuck to their posts and strived to maintain the smooth operation of the factory to ensure the needs of customers; In addition, we also reasonably allocated resources and shifts according to the plan, tried our best to ensure the daily startup hours, and coordinated resources inside and outside the factory to ensure the supply of materials and the smooth operation of production. At the same time, we were often faced with various challenges, such as rapid mold change in case of material shortage, all-weather loading and unloading of goods in the warehouse, timely solving problems with engineers outside through video, and so on.

More than 520 employees of Molex Shanghai and third-party personnel carried out various work in an orderly manner in the 70 days of lockdown, and completed 70% of the goal in April, which was the result of the joint efforts of the team.
Molex has properly taken various pandemic prevention measures during the lockdown period to ensure the antigen testing or nucleic acid testing every day. Through the efficient cooperation between the teams, the nucleic acid testing of the whole staff that would have taken half a day was shortened to 2 hours, and the antigen testing took only 30 minutes. We also strictly controlled personal express delivery other than medicine, so as to eliminate the hidden danger of virus transmission; In the case of positive cases detected around the factory, our factory has maintained a zero infection record so far, and has been highly praised and affirmed by the leaders of the management committee.

COVID pandemic came back in March 2022, and the war without smoke broke out overnight. The lockdown of the whole city means that personnel and vehicles are greatly restricted, resulting in the shutdown of almost all enterprises in Shanghai and Suzhou! Nearly 80% of the production materials supply may be interrupted. What should we do? Through the careful study of local policies and the full combination of the local advantages of suppliers, we planned the corresponding logistics distribution, and took Molex and selected suppliers as the centralized transportation point, and logistics and related procurement as the coordinator to ensure the smooth supply chain to the greatest extent to support the operation of the company's production.
We were so happy and encouraged by the successful completion of each delivery and warehousing! The "war" in 2022 has brought us a more severe test after two years. We have done it.

For more than two month lockdown, we understood and helped each other in the face of difficulties. When materials were in short supply, we shared sleeping bags, helped each other with haircuts and made simple shower rooms; When manpower as insufficient, employees spontaneously undertook the handling, distribution of meals and cleanings, etc. It was the strength of the team that finally overcame various difficulties, and these examples all reflected the principles of MBM humility and respect for others. We firmly believe that we can protect the factory through our efforts!

A sudden pandemic in March broke people's originally calm pace of work and life. With the successive implementation of lockdown management in Shanghai and surrounding cities, most raw materials, semi-finished products and finished products were difficult to circulate, which led to serious shutdown risk at any time. With the help of the facility and financial departments, the logistics team obtained the vehicle pass approved by the government, found the transportation resources of all parties, and cooperated with the government policies, planned the logistics process, arranged the timely supply and delivery of materials during the road control period, so as to ensure the continuity of production of the company, suppliers and customers.
As we are located in the bonded area, the import and export of goods need to be declared. In addition to taking the laptop home, the logistics team also brought back the desktop computer, customs manual and storage computer system, so as to realize non differentiated office work during the lockdown period, which played a significant role in continuous supply guarantee production.

I still paid close attention to the production line in my charge every day during the lockdown period. The work of onsite guidance could only be solved by video call during the lockdown period. Once a workpiece was suddenly damaged in production (Ipass170729), and the onsite technician contacted me by phone. That was a non-wearing part and needed to be processed by actual measurement. I instructed the technician by video call to measure the dimensions of the workpiece, and then a drawing was generated for outsourcing; then a supplier was found for processing; later, the team members in the company received the workpiece, and the technician performed commissioning, and finally the production was resumed.

Another time (Ipass170729) the production was interrupted because a workpiece cracked during production. In order to resume production as soon as possible, the welding repair scheme was selected after discussion and evaluation with the onsite technician. Then we contacted the supplier, assisted the supplier to restore the workpiece by video call, and picked up the workpiece from the supplier; finally the technician performed commission and the production was resumed. For others, such as DDR4 and Edge line, we also solved problems at production site in a similar way....
Improvement can never stop because of the pandemic. We discussed the Micro Fit SR improvement plan with the assembly team through the online Teams meeting and completed the transformation drawings. 
With the spread of the pandemic in Shanghai, we stayed in the hotel arranged by the company in early March. We never slowed down our work due to the impact of the pandemic. The daily busy home office mode built a bridge between us, and we were still fighting side by side. In addition, the company also arranged two psychological counseling lectures to dredge the mitigate emotions for everyone.
We all returned to Kunshan on May 18 to start a 14-day quarantine life. Looking back on the toughest times, there were mutual encouragement from colleagues and selfless care from company leaders. We believe that everything will become better soon!

During the lockdown period, in addition to my own production work, I was also responsible for lunch distribution, from 9:00 to 12:00 every morning, including catering, distributing meals, and cleaning after lunch. This busy and fulfilling life brings me new experiences. What I still remember is that Zhou Bo needed to pull the garbage to the garbage room at the east gate when the elevator couldn't work. Let's praise the onsite volunteers!

I immediately devoted myself to volunteers to fight against the pandemic during the lockdown period. As our community was officially included in the lockdown list in mid-March, I also became the first batch of community volunteers. I was always full of strength when I helped the elderly register nucleic acid QR codes, maintained the order of nucleic acid testing teams, and distributed antigen testing materials from the government. I came to the neighborhood committee at 5:30 in the morning and went home at 10:00 in the evening during the lockdown period. The reason why I became a volunteer is that I hope our city can get rid of the haze of the pandemic, people can return to normal life, and I can get together with my dear colleagues as soon as possible!

I served as an anti-pandemic volunteer after work. Although it was very hard to be a volunteer, we won the trust and respect of the residents. When I delivered nearly 200 cartons of milk and was thanked by Shanghainese in Mandarin, there was no geographical difference. This is Shanghai that we all guard together. I also deeply realized the helplessness of some residents, but we didn't give up. We encouraged each other and tried to send necessary materials and dispensing medicine to the residents. What we gained was not only gratitude but also increased the sincere feelings among the neighbors. I'm proud to be a volunteer.

I took part in the anti-pandemic volunteers in my spare time, hoping to overcome the pandemic soon. I was mainly responsible for counting the materials purchased by residents and taking care of the the elderly. In the afternoon, I worked for the company, and the day's work would continue until late at night.  As a Party member, I did well as a "propagandist" and a "demonstrator".

💬 :I completed the most special 'Cloud Onboarding' during the pandemic. This is my first month in Molex. I would like to thank the HR team and business partners for their warm greetings and encouragement, which made me quickly integrate into the team and smoothly start the docking of various studies and work. I would also like to thank my buddy Xiaoxiao for taking time to introduce and hand over the work carefully every day, and even giving training to me on weekends. Thank all of you!
💬 :I would like to thank Molex Shanghai for its care for us employees. The company also arranged employee activities for employees on weekends, which enriched our lives, and the most surprising thing is that there are "barbers" to cut hair for our! That's great!  
💬 :I really realized the efforts made by ordinary people for our better life through this pandemic! Those medical staff who fought in the front line, those heroes, although they were just ordinary people, they became angels in white. They are also the children of their parents and the wives of their husbands, but they have moved us too much! I was very moved when I saw the police on duty in the small shed temporarily built at the crossing, and the volunteers working in hot weather in protective clothing. 💬 :The pandemic made me quit taking out. Although I am not good at cooking, I still feel full of happiness when cooking for my family.
💬 :I reviewed my life and signed up for a chakra cleaning Yoga camp during the lockdown period, so that I could get up before six o'clock every day, followed the guidance of the teacher, relaxed my body and mind and activated my internal energy.
💬 :What I gain is the warmth between the neighbors. Everyone was busy with work and life, and there was almost no communication between neighbors in the past. We helped each other and shortened the distance between us during this special period. Although we temporarily lost our freedom, we gained the warmth of our neighbors that we should be grateful for all our life in the future.
💬 :I got the time to slow down the pace of life, precipitate myself and spend time with my family, and made many of my first times: making dumplings, making small steamed meat filled buns, and making Chinese leek pancake for the first time.
💬 :Healthy work and rest time. 1.Get up at 7:30 every day and go to bed before 23:00 with healthy work and rest time. 2. Make delicious food. There is enough time to enjoy delicious food during the lockdown period, which not only satisfies the taste buds, but also enriches the interest.3. Keep running for at least 30 minutes every day. After 48 hours of closed-loop management and two rounds of nucleic acid testing of more than 550 employees of Molex Shanghai, the factory finally lifted lockdown at 8:30 a.m. on March 20th!

Anti-pandemic Diary of Molex Shanghai

In view of the complexity and uncertainty of COVID pandemic in Shanghai, Molex Shanghai management team decided to arrange employees with laptops in the office to work at home from March 14th.

In order to implement the investigation, prevention and control of COVID, Waigaoqiao Pilot Free Trade Zone carried out two rounds of nucleic acid testing for 528 employees and third-party personnel within 48 hours from March 18th to March 19th.

March 21st: KN95 mask donation (CSR Activity)

At the critical moment of pandemic prevention, Molex Shanghai learned about the demand for epidemic prevention materials from Shanghai Social Organization Bureau: subdistricts were in urgent need of protection related materials. Represented by Liu Yun, chairman of Molex Shanghai Labour Union, donated 2000 KN95 protective masks to the Yangpu District Representative Office of Shanghai Charity Foundation on March 21.
While creating business value, Molex Shanghai has always been guided by the spirit of giving back to the society and mutual benefit, highlighting the corporate social responsibility of the company.

March 14th: Work from home

March 28th: Second round of closed-loop management

Shanghai has implemented lockdown in districts and batches since 5 a.m. on March 28th and carried out nucleic acid screening. 528 employees (including Molex and third-party employees) voluntarily onsite in the factory from 5:00 on March 28 to 5:00 on April 1 to carry out production and completed production tasks with quality and quantity.

April 1st: First "Cloud" fitness activity of Molex Shanghai

Molex Shanghai launched the first "cloud fitness" activity to encourage employees to strengthen exercise and physique while ensuring normal work. Upload personal fitness videos or photos every day and complete daily tasks. Although the cloud fitness activity has come to an end, colleagues have said that they have formed good fitness habits and will integrate the concept of health into everyday life in the future!

April 5th: Special activities for onsite staff

The factory management organized a special event for 528 employees on the legal holiday of April 5th. Although there was a shortage of materials during the pandemic period, the preparatory group used limited resources to create a variety of entertainment games, karaoke, Molex 'Cinema' and other leisure and educational projects for colleagues on the premise of ensuring safety, which were highly praised by colleagues.

April 15th: Molex employee assistance program (EAP) launched

As we all know, life will not be easy, such as the health problems caused by the COVID, family and other personal problems will put us in trouble. Therefore, the company actively joined hands with Koch's project team to launch an employee assistance program to solve problems for employees and their families, and provide them with professional support and guidance.
The "Employee Assistance Program" provided by ICAS international professional institutions was officially launched in Molex Shanghai on April 15th. 24-hour free service hotline: 400-820-0393 (Password 0501) in Chinese and English.

April 19th: Staff meat and vegetables gift packs delivery completed

In view of the severe pandemic situation in Shanghai and the difficulties in purchasing living supplies, the company actively took countermeasures and distributed a wide variety of "meat and vegetable gift packs " through point-to-point logistics. Despite shortage of logistics resources and scattered residence of employees during the pandemic period, the company has completed the distribution task of more than 1200 meat and vegetable gift packs in four days and nights!
Materials became more and more valuable during lockdown period. Molex Shanghai colleagues expressed their thankness to the company through the WeChat moments.

April 11th, 15th, 20th and 26th: Four sessions of psychological lectures

Koch's human resources department organized three live lectures on pandemic isolation for employees, covering topics such as personal protection, nucleic acid science popularization, scientific management of human and material isolation, and mental health protection.
On April 20, with the theme of "Emotional adjustment and self-management under pandemic", Yu Qingfei, a mentor of spiritual exploration, led Molex Shanghai employees to share the methods of how to adjust the situation and do a good job of self-management under pandemic around the four aspects of "Daily life care, work state care, family support care and physical and mental health treasure".

Shanghai Fusion Project Updates

The Shanghai Fusion M&O team was committed to the preliminary preparation of the project in March and April. Even if the pandemic disrupted the previous work mode, the team still carried out the following four work flows in an orderly manner through online meetings.
Firstly, the team completed the local information input of the site Readiness Assessment, and conducted in-depth discussions with division project members on the assessment findings and gaps to ensure the implementation of standardization in CCS.
Secondly, the team closely tracked the system optimization list of Chengdu and verified the adaptability and differences of the list for Shanghai.
Thirdly, the project core team co-worked with all shopfloor managers, production supervisors and process engineers to initially identified the gaps between local capabilities and global designed ones through more than 20 Process Mapping workshops.
Fourthly, five M&O Capability teams have preliminarily mapped the test cases to make full preparations for the smooth deployment of the Design Localization phase of the project.
In May and June, one of the key tasks for the project team is to continue to complete the site Readiness Assessment and figure out the action plans aligned with division. Meanwhile, the team will finish the system modeling for pilot products in May and conduct deep-dive MES system training to SMEs and Superusers, so that in the line-side practice which will be organized in June, they would provide real and actual feedback and the requirement to MES system optimization.   
In addition, considering most SMEs (L2) and Superusers (L3) are working at home due to city lockdown, site OCM and project team has designed a 4-week M&O Intrepid Training Plan: L2 & L3 members enter into the Intrepid training platform to self learn the basic knowledge of MES system and then bring the questions to the weekly Q&A session for discussion with capability representatives (L1). At the same time, the team continues to arrange the primary practice based on the previous work to strengthen…

Employee's Insights after MOS Project Pilot II 

Shanghai factory has deployed MOS project since April 2021, during which employees with different functions participated in MOS communication meeting and WSK & DMK related activities. The assembly of Cell 3 – Microfit & Type C as a pilot unit overcame many obstacles, completed relevant activities in strict accordance with the MOS deployment plan and was highly recognized by the management. Through various MOS publicity activities, production line employees have a preliminary understanding of MOS.

After a series of training and field exercise, they have the following understanding and perception of MOS:
1. Doing MOS well can improve production efficiency;
2. Handle key issues more quickly;
3. Stronger sense of responsibility for the results.

The production line staff fully understood the relevant concepts through the implementation of WSK, 5S, and standardization training. The production line staff also actively participated in the follow-up red card campaign and put forward many red cards, some of which ignored equipment safety hazards and process defects. After several rounds of red card actions and improvement actions, Cell 3 employees said that the standardized working environment was cleaner and orderly than before, which making them feel comfortable at work. The implementation of DMK (Daily, Management, Kaizen), the meetings at different levels, 5S audit, and DM audit can help employees systematically understand the production plan and production status and report problems in a timely manner.

With the implementation of the Cell Huddle unit meeting, the production line employees actively reported the problem points instead of just listening, and some employees even took the initiative to assume the role of speaker at the Cell Huddle unit meeting when the Cell Leader was absent. Here, special praise is given to the Cell 3 unit leaders. As pioneers, they were nervous and lack confidence when they first presided over the meeting; but later they could preside over the whole Cell Huddle unit meeting calmly and confidently, which reflect the great efforts they have made. The implementation of Cell Huddle unit meeting has brought smoother communication between front-line employees and engineering team; most problems can be solved in time, and the cohesion of the team has been strengthened.
Reviewing the various links in the implementation and deployment plan of MOS, we found many advantages. 5S red card operation has greatly improved the stable operation of the production site; brief meetings at all levels and relevant audit mechanisms have improved the process and standardization of daily management. We firmly believe that with our successful experience in the implementation of pilot unit Cell 3, we can apply and expand it to other units in the assembly department. We will make persistent efforts in the future expansion plan and move forward with confidence!

It connects the front-end product strategy and balances the back-end production capacity and resource capacity based on the demand plan generated by the sales strategy; the corresponding supply plan and risk assessment are made as the basis for subsequent actions to meet the demands of our customers and the survival conditions of the enterprise. This is an advanced decision-making tool for supply chain management.Based on this concept, Molex has implemented GSOP&E 2.0 project all over the world, which involves issues in multiple directions of enterprise operation and enterprise operation management, including the formulation and implementation of medium and long-term plans, the balance between demand and supply, the implementation of order fulfillment strategy, the adjustment of inventory and service level, etc.
Generally speaking, the S&OP plan must be formed in a higher order, that is, the implementation can only be measured by efficiency; The goal of S&OP is not a static transformation from sales plan to production plan, but a dynamic transformation from plan to change and from theory to implementation.

GSOP&E 2.0 Introduction

Hello, I'm Qiu Wei, project leader of global supply planning department of CCS Division.
The supply planning department plays an important role in the global digital transformation. Everyone is familiar with Fusion now, which focuses on the effective management of product design and production. But now we have a few questions about it. How can the information flow of new products and demand & supply circulate effectively in real time at the operation level of the whole enterprise? How can we make sure that the goods made by the factory are what the customers need and they can be delivered to the customers in a timely manner? How can the company maintain good financial indicators and competitive advantages?

The solutions to these problems cannot be provided by one department or several departments. Therefore, the company has introduced S&OP concept since 2020 and plans to apply it in the operation and management of the whole enterprise. Supply plan is one of the links. 

I was lucky to participate in the online learning activity of "MBM supervisor Essentials – Coaching with MBM" held by the company on April 7. Through this activity, I benefited a lot from the trainer Elisa Wang and colleagues from different departments all over the country, which deepened my understanding of MBM, and helped me master some new MBM tools.
The course lasted 1.5 hours and was rich in content and form. Elisa first led us to discuss five self-reflection questions about Coaching with MBM before class, made us realize our problems in this aspect, and then inspired us to explore the direction and methods of improvement. Then, she carefully arranged two video case studies and discussions on the conversation between supervisors and employees, and focused on tools such as "MBM Coaching Framework" and "SBO", which made us deeply understand the important role of MBM in communication, and we should give specific details or examples as effective instructions when using SBO to clearly express the Situation, Behavior and Outcome to employees, so as to avoid inane overview.
After that, we tried to use the MBM knowledge learned in the video case to have a group case discussion of "Coaching Connie". Through the discussion of this case and the supplement and summary of Elisa, we have further deepened our understanding of Coaching with MBM, how to learn from each other in the future, and how to use MBM in the coaching with employees, so as to better improve the efficiency of coaching and cultivate the ability of employees.
I think the biggest benefit brought to me by this learning activity is the learning and application of "MBM Coaching Framework" and "SBO". I will flexibly use these two tools in my daily work in the future to improve the communication between me and employees and help employees improve their ability, so as to realize the maximum value of our whole team.

MBM learning is a continuous journey for all employees. Our factory has faced an unprecedented challenge in the past two months - the severe situation of the COVID pandemic. Although the city and our factory are facing long-term lockdown, the management did not stop MBM learning. They carried out an offline and an online MBM workshop respectively, and learned two meaningful themes "Transformation" and " Self-realization".
MBM workshop took "Transformation" as the theme in March. I believe you have noticed that the company is currently undergoing various transformations. For example, digital transformation is or is bound to affect every employee. We must learn new knowledge and skills to avoid being left behind by the era of rapid development. In this context, the management deeply discussed what is "transformation", "the importance and urgency of transformation" for Shanghai factory, and how the management of the company should help employees realize "transformation".

Limited by the lockdown, the management adopted the online method to organize the learning of "Self-realization" MBM workshop in April.

We had an in-depth discussion at two different levels. One was how an individual can realize "self-realization" to form a virtuous circle of mutual benefit at the individual level, and how to overcome obstacles and become a lifelong learner. The other was how a supervisor can help employees realize "self-realization" to form a virtuous circle of mutual benefit at the organizational level, such as guiding employees rather than doing it yourself, helping employees give full develop to their potential, etc.

Hello, I'm Robin Wu from the ME Department of Molex Shanghai. I have worked in Molex Shanghai factory for more than ten years. I am honored to be a member of Shanghai factory and work hard with my partners for Molex Shanghai factory to achieve good results.
I worked as a new product project management engineer before 2016, responsible for promoting the whole process of product development, mold, fixture and production line design, manufacturing, trial operation to mass production.
From 2016 to 2019, with the needs of factory business development, my role changed to product transfer project management, and worked with team members to complete projects such as transferring products from Molex Dalian, the United States and Mexico factories to Shanghai factory for mass production.
Since 2020, my role has changed again and now I’m a member of the global capability design team of Fusion project M & O (Manufacturing & Operation).

Molex has always been a strong source of energy for me to face all challenges. I still clearly remember the brother who tutored me in kick-off for the first time; the elder sister who guided me to use SAP T- codes with skillful excel skills; the process masters who patiently taught me and the department leaders who gave me timely advice and full trust when I took over the work in the unknown field.
Shanghai factory will introduce the Fusion project in the second half of 2022 as planned. We look forward to winning the battle of "digital transformation" with all of you! Excellent enterprises can always perceive the changes of the market in advance and continue to change, which is the fundamental reason why they can grow, develop and become powerful all the time. As a member of such a powerful enterprise, we should get used to facing and embracing change without fear of any challenges. I deeply agree with the thinking model of people, process and technology proposed by the Fusion project. People refer to themselves, always in the first place. We should have the courage to abandon old habits, learn and follow new processes, and then give full play to the role of new tools in our work.
Although Shanghai is at the dawn of the COVID pandemic, I sincerely wish all our factory partners and their families good health. Let's wait for a better tomorrow together!

I sincerely thank the company for providing me with a platform to show my ability.
