Message from Vice Principal

Dear Parents,

I’m not going to lie, the uncertainty and circumstances that the latest covid related measures have imposed upon us have been a challenge. But, we are determined to make sure our students get the best quality care they can. We have been striving to create a healthy balance between focusing on academic standards and well-being. As you’ll see, we have been thinking of innovative ways to keep spirits up. I am actually very proud of our students and their positive attitude, who have now been online for 8 weeks, many of whom have not been home at all in that time. The whole school community can be rest assured that whatever arises, we will continue to make sure our students have as balanced a lifestyle on campus as our situation allows.

 

Thank you for your continued trust, and I look forward to the day when we can welcome you back onto our campus!

亲爱的世华家长们，

无可否认的是新冠病毒带来的不确定性以及相应的各种不可控的情况给包括学校、华华子以及家长在内的所有人一重又一重的挑战。但是作为学校，我们从始至终的落点就是确保我们的学生能够获得我们能力范围内最优质的教育和关爱。我们一直在努力平衡学生的学业和身心健康。正如您将看到的，我们一直在尝试用更为创新的方法来激励学生。实际上，我为我们的学生感到非常自豪，他们现在已经上网课 8 周了，甚至许多学生在这段时间内从未回过家，他们依然表现出积极的面对学习和生活的态度。作为学校的老师，请世华家长们放心，无论发生什么，我们都将继续确保我们的学生在校园内拥有平衡且健康的生活方式。

导览

在闭校管理期间，华华子们展现出无与伦比的坚韧和友善。曾经固有的时间空间被打破；曾经不曾了解的人突然变得更近了；曾经习以为常的一切变得如此宝贵。 疫情期间教会我们最终要的一课，大概就是珍惜眼前人，把握时光，竭尽全力去做自己所热爱的事。 

学生们都希望能有一个他们可以尽情享受的寄宿奇妙夜。一些学生建议如果可能的话可以玩一些桌游。在我看来，对于那些长期留在学校的学生来说，任何能缓解压力的活动都是很好的想法。由于学校已经停掉了外卖，我为学生们准备了一些零食，让学生们能更快乐的投入活动中。

Students hope to have a linc night which they could enjoy themselves. Some students suggested that we should play some more board games if it is possible. From my perspective, it was a good idea for those students who have been kept in school for a long time to relieve pressure. Besides that, I also purchased some snacks for them because they were not allowed to order any delivery food during this period.

LINC4 - Boarding Head Yimian  成长导师 胡弋眠

It’s been a while since our students had their LINC night. Cathy suggested that we could have some DIY activities, which, in my opinion, could be very helpful with relieving our students’ pressure. According to Cathy’s recommendation, I chose the plaster painting. I would like our students to relax a lilttle bit by making some DIY artcrafts.

我们的学生已经有一段时间没有参加寄宿奇妙夜了。周思琦同学建议我们可以做一些艺术手工活动，作为LINC4的成长导师，我也认为这对减轻学生的压力很有帮助，最终我在一众选择中选择了石膏画，希望学生们在做艺术手工的过程中， 能让身心得到放松。

“戏精”新体验 社交新选择

在描述剧本杀时，玩家们最常提到“体验感”。这既包含逻辑是否合理、节奏是否得当，也包含人物形象和情节故事性。

From the beginning, LINC 5 always hopes to give all a sense of home away from home, And wishes our girls to use the common room as their living room, where they can share their ideas with each other and enjoy the valuable time together. More importantly, we don’t want to lose any one. In our community, there is no “somebody” or “nobody”, we are family. And families are like branches of a tree. We grow in different directions yet our roots remain as one.

从一开始，LINC 5就一直希望能给所有人一种家外之家的感觉。并且希望女孩们能将公共休息室真的当作她们的客厅，在这里她们可以互相分享想法，一起享受宝贵的时光。更重要的是，我们不想失去任何一个。在我们的社区中，没有“重要人物”或“无名之辈”，我们是一家人。家庭就像树上的树枝，我们向着不同方向生长，但我们的根仍然是一体的。

The first-weekend Committee consists of 8 members: Todd ZHU; William WANG. Ulysses WU; Carina ZHOU; Grace FANG; Isabella JIN; Emily ZHU; Lily ZHU. Todd ZHU is the male chair and Isabella JIN is the female chair. The Weekend Boarding Committee will work with Me and Mr. Tim to bring more activities and opportunities to weekend boarding. Congratulations to the members of the first Weekend Boarding Committee!

CWA Boarding Weekend Coordinator

In terms of study, we have fixed study time every morning, and I visit all students to ensure the effective use of study time. In terms of activities, we organized different kinds of competitions such as frisbee and dodgeball, and finally awarded prizes to students who won the competition.

We believe this is a good opportunity for students to develop self-management skills. In terms of rest, we ensure that students have enough rest time in the dorms on weekends. With the efforts of all the weekend boarders, we successfully established the first-weekend boarding committee.

三月份，周末寄宿计划几乎涵盖了全体学生。由于周末寄宿生人数的增加，我们在周末得到老师的更多支持。我们依然遵守周末寄宿的核心理念。

在学习方面，学生每天早上都有固定的学习时间，我会关注所有的学生，确保学习时间的有效利用。活动方面，我们组织了飞盘、躲避球等不同类型的比赛，设置了报名，并为赢得比赛的学生颁奖。我们相信这是学生发展自我管理技能的好机会。在休息方面，我们保证学生周末在宿舍有足够的休息时间。

在所有周末寄宿生的努力下，我们成功成立了第一个寄宿生委员会。委员会由 8 名成员组成：朱辰益，王泷云，武文博，周乐凝，方诗媛，金佳禾，朱彦虹，朱旭蕾。

朱辰益和金佳禾两位同学分别担任主席。周末寄宿委员会与我和副校长蒂姆先生协同合作，希望为周末寄宿带来更多活动和机会。祝贺第一届周末寄宿委员会的成员们！

世华同伴辅导计划

learning never exhausts the mind. 

what is It? 

Peer Tutoring Scheme offers informal opportunities for CWA students to consult trained Peer Tutors on the certain core subjects. Peer Tutors can provide an extra layer of academic support for students by reviewing critical concepts and materials from class, clarifying points of confusion, and developing study strategies for upcoming exams.

什么是同伴辅导计划 (PTS)？

同伴辅导计划为 CWA 学生提供了一个在课下时间就部分核心学科内容，咨询受到学校认证的同伴辅导员的机会。同伴导师可以通过辅助学生复习课堂上的关键概念和材料、澄清困惑点以及为即将到来的考试制定学习策略等方式，为学生提供额外的学术支持。

Peer Tutors will

- conduct one-on-one peer tutoring sessions.

- provide online peer tutoring during tutoring session.

- and help to build up skills for effective and independent learning.

同伴导师将

- 进行一对一的同伴辅导课程。

- 在辅导期间提供在线同伴辅导。

Charity Run

这是世华学校首届义跑活动，本次活动将会是初中部和高中部的集体活动。届时将会有不同的活动等着大家的到来，喜欢摄影的同学还可以踊跃报名，加入我们的摄影师队伍，我们会挑选出精彩瞬间打印出来，贴在操场边的照片墙上。喜欢跑步的同学欢迎来到赛道上。我们所募集到的每一分钱将会捐献给苏州儿童基金会，用于帮助那些饱受疾病和饥饿的儿童们。请大家踊跃参与吧。

正如松下幸之助所言：人的一生，总是难免有浮沉。不会永远如旭日东升，也不会永远痛苦潦倒。反复地一浮一沉，对于一个人来说，正是磨练。因此，浮在上面的，不必骄傲；沉在底下的，更用不着悲观。必须以率直谦虚的态度，乐观进取向前迈进。

就是越困难的时候，越要说我往前。大家都很苦难的时候，你就要再往前熬一熬，再熬半天就熬过了，熬过了之后路就开了。
