Dear parents and friends of CWA,

Welcome to this first 24-25 issue of CWA Student Life newsletter - we will alternate between Academics and Student Life every other week - This will give you an insight of our residential learning , life after school and how se work and live together with our students.

Our three-year cycle (FP/DP1 /DP2) is ongoing , every year is an examination and university application year. This is creating excitement, hope but also tension and stress for our DP2s. Our boarding and residential life is there to help and support our students to keep a healthy work-life balance. This is very important when stress is around the corner.

The DP1 have embarked on their IB learning journey with energy and enthusiasm. The club fair we held at the beginning of the year, the sports teams and the numerous activities and possibilities offered at CWA are not only meeting the CAS requirements but also enable every student to explore and find their talent. A good and active student profile is a crucial asset for university applications especially for students applying to USA. Starting on the right foot from DP1 and FP will pave the way for a rich learning experience that will be valorized by university admissions officers all over the world.

The new FP students are settling in well. The one-week orientation did a lot of good in setting our expectations, explaining rules and regulations, and enabling students to get to know each other. Communication with you parents is very important and we will keep you updated regularly - this newsletter is one example- of the numerous activities and deadlines happening at CWA.

I hope to see you at our first Tri-party conference on September 28 ( FP/DP1) .

新的FP学生们也正在很好地适应。一周的迎新活动对明确我们的期望、解释学校的规章制度以及促进学生之间的相互了解起到了积极的作用。与您——家长的沟通非常重要，我们将定期为您提供更新。此通讯就是我们展示CWA众多活动的一个例子。

在这秋风送爽、丹桂飘香的时节，世华学校举行了新学期开学典礼，初高中师生齐聚一堂，共同开启新学年的旅程。我们既庆祝新学期的开始，也怀抱激情展望未来。联合创办人及董事会副主席王颐先生发表了鼓舞人心的讲话，回顾了学校的发展历程，表扬了师生的成就，并鼓励学生们勇于探索，不断进步。

At this beautiful time of year with a refreshing breeze and fragrant osmanthus, CWA held its opening ceremony, where middle and high school teachers and students gathered to start the new academic journey. We celebrated the new semester and looked forward to the future with enthusiasm. Co-founder and Vice Chair of the Board Mr. Wang Yi delivered an inspiring speech, reflecting on the school's progress, praising achievements, and encouraging students to explore boldly and keep improving.

本月 我们成功举办了备受期待的社团招募会。从充满活力的体育社团，到注重思维碰撞的学术组织，再到培养创造力的技能社团，招募会充分展示了我们学校对全方位教育的承诺。学生们借此机会探索兴趣、结识志趣相投的伙伴，并积极参与到自己学习旅程的塑造中。这场活动不仅展现了学校社团的多样性，也彰显了我们社区的团结精神。

We successfully held the much-anticipated club recruitment fair. From dynamic sports clubs to intellectually stimulating academic organizations, and creative skill-based clubs, the fair showcased our school’s commitment to providing a well-rounded education. It offered students a platform to explore their interests, connect with like-minded peers, and actively shape their educational journey. This event not only highlighted the diversity of our school’s clubs but also underscored the spirit of unity within our community.

本月社团正式启动，共有30多个社团，涵盖了体育、音乐、科技、美食和文化等多个领域。其中，排球社、飞盘社、世华小当家、数学大师和历史社等成为学生们最热衷参与的热门社团。特别值得关注的是，今年我们首次实现了初高中社团的打通，资源和学生共享。例如，筑梦奇兵支教研究所、经典摇滚乐队、模联社和CASA航空航天研究社等社团，不仅拓宽了学生的社交网络，增强了不同年级之间的合作与交流，也为学生提供了更加丰富的社团体验。

This month IB clubs officially kicked off, with over 30 clubs spanning a wide range of interests, including sports, music, technology, food, and culture. Popular choices among students include the volleyball club, frisbee club, Cooking Club, MathMaster, and history club. A key highlight this year is the first-time integration of middle and high school clubs, enabling shared resources and student participation across different grades. Clubs like Creative Dream Builders, Classic Rock Band, MUN, and CASA have been enthusiastically embraced by students from both divisions. This collaboration not only expands students’ social circles and fosters inter-grade cooperation but also offers a richer and more diverse club experience.

周末寄宿

周末寄宿活动为学生们提供了充实多样的校园生活体验，让他们在运动和学习之间找到平衡。通过丰富的活动，学生们不仅能够锻炼身体、舒缓压力，还可以有效利用时间完成课业和个人项目，提升自我管理和时间规划的能力。同时，这些活动为住校生创造了一个安全且有意义的周末环境，进一步增强了他们的集体归属感与责任意识。

The weekend boarding activities offer students a vibrant campus life experience, allowing them to strike a balance between physical activity and academics. Through a variety of activities, students not only get to exercise and unwind but also use their time effectively to complete coursework and personal projects, improving their self-management and time management skills. Additionally, these activities provide boarders with a safe and fulfilling weekend environment, fostering a stronger sense of community and responsibility.

本月我们成功举办了校级排球、足球和篮球比赛，比赛过程精彩纷呈，既有激烈的对抗，也充满了团队协作的精神。尽管在比赛中有输有赢，但每一支参赛队伍都展现出了顽强拼搏的精神和对运动的热爱。无论是胜利的一方还是经历失利的一方，所有学生都在比赛中收获了宝贵的经验和友谊。这些比赛不仅为校园注入了活力，也增强了学生们的集体归属感，鼓励他们在未来的比赛中继续挑战自我，追求卓越。

This month, we successfully hosted school-wide volleyball, soccer, and basketball tournaments, all of which were filled with excitement, fierce competition, and great teamwork. While there were both wins and losses, every team demonstrated resilience and a true passion for sports. Regardless of the outcomes, all participants gained valuable experiences and forged new friendships through the games. These tournaments not only energized the campus atmosphere but also strengthened students’ sense of community, encouraging them to continue challenging themselves and striving for excellence in future competitions.

每个月我们都会举办一次全校集会（assembly），这为学生们提供了一个重要的平台，用以发布校级活动、招募志愿者或参与者，并分享他们在各种活动中的经验和收获。集会不仅是信息传递的机会，也是一个展示学生知识和技能的舞台。学生们通过分享他们在学术、艺术、体育和课外活动中的成功和挑战，激励同学们积极参与校园生活。此外，孩子们还会在集会上表演各种才艺，如音乐、舞蹈、戏剧等，展现他们的创造力和个性。这些集会为学生们提供了一个互相学习、表达自我和增强自信的机会，同时也促进了整个校园社区的凝聚力和归属感。
