A LEVEL
The principal advantage of A Levels is the freedom of choice that they offer. Most pupils study three to four A Level subjects and there are no specific requirements for which subjects a pupil should study. A Levels allow pupils considerable freedom to specialise in the subjects that really interest them and which are more closely related to the course that they might aspire to study at university.

A LEVEL Art and design
Cambridge International AS & A Level Art & Design encourages learners to explore a range of processes and techniques appropriate to their chosen area of study. The syllabus encourages personal responses that are based on knowledge and understanding and skills in art, craft and design.

The A level Art and Design course is accepted for a wide range of university courses. Students have gone on to study for Art related courses such as the pre-degree Foundation Course in Art and Design and degree courses including Fine Art, Architecture, Graphic Design, Illustration, Textiles, 3D design, Photography, Product Design and Digital Media. A level Art is also widely accepted for academic subjects such as English, History and Law.

Mathematics develops a set of transferable skills. These include the skill of working with mathematical information, as well as the ability to think logically and independently, consider accuracy, model situations mathematically, analyse results and reflect on findings.

Students will be likely to include mathematics as a major or minor component of university studies - either in its own right or within courses such as physics, engineering or technology. You need an A*/A in your IGCSE Mathematics so you can study A Level Further Mathematics. If students want to study Mathematics in the undergraduate stage, it is necessary to study FM. There are many practical reasons to acquire another language like Chinese.
Chinese is particularly fascinating because of how it depicts concepts and ideas. Through an astonishing array of beautiful logographic characters, melodic spoken language, and poetic phrasing, the language educates us in a world view morally and spiritually. The endeavour to learn Chinese can make us stronger and wiser in character.
Chinese is widely used in global indusry, world trade, relationships and dialogues.

A Level English Literature
English Literature develops a set of transferable skills. These include critical analysis, constructing arguments and presenting knowledge and understanding in a balanced, articulate and fluent manner. Learners of Literature in English will be well-equipped for progression to higher education or directly into employment; finding that the skills needed will support them in a wide range of subjects and real-world situations. An English Literature degree can lead onto careers in journalism, the law, the media, the armed services, the Police Force, management, the Civil Service, advertising, business and teaching.

Physics is a traditional subject and is identified as a key facilitating subject by the Russell Group of elite Universities. Physics is a sensible choice for students considering a career in Physics, Medicine, Veterinary Science, Dentistry, Computing, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Environmental Science. Physics will also prepare students for industry careers, such as those within the engineering or electronics sectors.

Drama provides opportunities for learners to develop their skills as theatrical practitioners, engaging with performance texts in practical and creative ways. It fosters engagement with, and enjoyment of, the study of a wide range of theatrical styles and genres. 15% of drama graduates are working in artistic, literary and media occupations 15 months after graduation. 8% are teaching professionals, 2% are in design occupations and 1% are working as media professionals.
