It is used to prepare samples for microscopic examination, effectively observe and study the internal microstructure of metals and their alloys. It can also be used to process irregular-sized samples for Vickers hardness testing.
Rockwell hardness testing is one of the hardness testing methods. That is, a certain test force is applied to a specific shape to make it indent the surface of the tested object to produce an indentation, and the hardness of the material is determined from the net increase in the depth of the indentation. The scales of hardness are usually represented by A, B, C, R, L, M, E and K. The higher the value in each scale, the greater the hardness value of the material.
The Rockwell hardness test is simple to operate, quick to measure, and the hardness value can be directly read on the indicator. It has high working efficiency and has become one of the most commonly used hardness test methods. Due to the small test force and small indentation, especially the indentation of the superficial Rockwell hardness test is even smaller, which has no impact on the use of most workpieces. It can directly test the finished workpiece. The application of the initial test force makes the slight unevenness of the sample surface have less influence on the hardness value. Therefore, this instrument is very suitable for use in factories and for piece-by-piece inspection of finished or semi-finished workpieces processed in batches. This test method does not have high requirements for measurement operations and is easy for non-professionals to master.

It can test various ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as the hardness of hardened steel, tempered steel, annealed steel, surface-hardened steel, plates ofvariousthicknesses, cemented carbide materials, powder metallurgical materials, and thermal spray coatings. The superficial Rockwell hardness tester is used to test the hardness of thin sheet metals, thin-walled pipes, surface-hardened steels, and small parts.
The Rockwell scale can be expressed as "HRX", where "X" is used to represent the different hardness scales employed. The most commonly used scales are "C" and "B".
The C scale is applied to harder materials. This scale uses a diamond cone indenter and a force value of 150 kgf to obtain a hardness value expressed as "HRC".
The B scale is applied to softer materials (such as aluminium, copper alloys, and mild steel). This scale uses a tungsten carbide alloy steel ball as the indenter and applies a force value of 100 kgf to obtain a hardness value expressed as "HRB". Fully automatic Rockwell hardness tester
A specified test force is applied to the hard alloy indenter with a diameter of D to press the indenter into the surface of the sample. After a specified holding time, the test force is removed, and the diameter d of the indentation on the sample surface is measured. The Brinell hardness is calculated by dividing the test force by the surface area of the indentation.
The advantage of the Brinell hardness test is that its hardness representation is good. Its indentation area is large, which can reflect the average value of the comprehensive influence of each constituent phase of the metal within a large range, and is not affected by individual constituent phases and minor non-uniformity. Therefore, it is particularly suitable for the determination of gray cast iron, bearing alloys and metal materials with coarse grains. Its test data is stable, has good reproducibility, and its accuracy is higher than that of the Rockwell hardness test but lower than that of the Vickers hardness test. In addition, there is a good correspondence between the Brinell hardness value and the tensile strength value.
The disadvantage is that the indentation is large, which makes it difficult to inspect the finished product. The test process is more complicated than the Rockwell hardness test, and both the measurement operation and the indentation measurement are time-consuming.

The Brinell hardness tester is mainly used for hardness testing of unevenly structured forged steel and cast iron. The Brinell hardness test can also be used for non-ferrous metals and mild steel. Small-sized and thinner materials can be measured by using a small-diameter ball indenter. The Brinell hardness tester is mostly used for the detection of raw materials and semi-finished products. Due to the large indentation, it is generally not used for the detection of finished products.
The standard representation of Brinell hardness values can be exemplified as "XXXHBW 10/3000":
"HBW" indicates that the applied indenter is a tungsten alloy ball indenter (W is the chemical symbol of tungsten), "10" represents the ball diameter in millimeters; "3000" represents the force value in kilograms-force.

The advantages of the Vickers hardness test are that it is the most accurate among the commonly used hardness test methods, and it also has good repeatability and a wide measurement range. It can measure almost all the metal materials currently used in industry, from very soft materials (several Vickers hardness units) to very hard materials (3000 Vickers hardness units). The greatest advantage of the Vickers hardness test is that its hardness value is independent of the test force. As long as the material has uniform hardness, the test force can be selected arbitrarily and its hardness value remains unchanged.
The disadvantages are that the Vickers hardness test is inefficient, requires higher test techniques, has higher requirements for the surface finish of the sample, usually requires the production of special samples, and the operation is troublesome and time-consuming. It is usually only used in laboratories.

The small load Vickers hardness test is mainly used in material research and scientific experiments. It is mainly used to test the hardness of small precision parts, the hardness of surface hardened layers and the effective hardened layer depth, the surface hardness of coatings, the hardness of sheet materials and fine wire materials, the hardness near the cutting edge, the hardness of dental materials, etc. The micro Vickers hardness test is mainly used in metallurgical and metallographic research, and also for the testing of extremely small or extremely thin parts. The thickness of the parts can be as thin as 3 μm.
The standard representation of Brinell hardness values can be expressed as xxxHVyy, for example, 440HV30.
440 is the Vickers hardness value, HV represents the hardness scale (Vickers), and 30 indicates that the test force value is 30 Kgf. The selection of the test force depends on the type of sample, the thickness of the sample and the expected hardness range. The thickness of the sample or test layer should be at least 1.5 times the length of the diagonal of the indentation. There should be no visible deformation marks on the back of the sample after the test.

- The CCT composite cyclic corrosion test chamber can conduct traditional salt spray, dry-wet alternating mixed salt spray tests and most of the automotive cyclic corrosion tests.
- It is specially developed, designed and assembled in accordance with the specification requirements for functional modes such as salt spray, condensation humidity, relative humidity control, air drying, salt water immersion, automatic spraying, rotary spraying, low temperature, etc., to test metal components, electrophoretic coating parts, paint coating parts, electronic components, etc.
- Specific nozzles can spray the solution evenly on the specimens, and the solution flow rate can be adjusted by itself.
- The nozzles are installed on an independent module and can be easily removed when the atomization function is enabled.
- The sprayed liquid has a large area and high flow rate, and the spraying time is shorter than the atomization solution time under the salt spray function.
- The on/off time of spraying can be programmed directly for better control of the corrosion rate.
- Standard test sample brackets are provided, which can accommodate flat samples. For oversized and overweight three-dimensional samples (such as automotive wheels, engine parts, etc.), grid kits with the same height as the brackets can be used.
