·with the age changing quickly,our entertaining activities are changing as well. A number of people would rather hang out outside than just stay at home. This year we experienced staying at home for two months since Spring Festival. Everything was unpredictable. Who would have thought that we’d be home for two months, because of novel coronavirus? Who could have imagined that we would be in isolation at home for two months? We have experienced a changed lifestyle in the two months. 

When holiday comes, everyone is sure to feel happy. After all, who doesn’t want a happy holiday after having worked and studied for almost one year? it ‘s time to relax. It’s a busy and pleasant time to have family reunion dinner. So this Spring Festival, everyone is looking forward to the holiday when vacation is only a few days away. 

But then there was the novel coronavirus. At first, nobody realized its danger. We thought we still could meet our relatives. However, things became more serious. With more and more people infected, the government made a big decision to let people stay at home to reduce the times of going outside. Having heard this news, everybody was shocked that the outbreak was so bad and started to buy masks to prevent infection. 

To prevent people from getting together, government closed all the stores, restaurants and entertainment venues. Apart from going outside to buy food and the necessities of living, people just stayed at home. But what could we do at home except having meals , sleeping, and doing other normal things? Even the most popular games and TikTok became boring. Since we couldn’t go out for fun, life seemed to become more and more boring. 

 Heroes in harm's way

•People always say that they are angles because they always wear white and show up when we are so vulnerable and in desperate need of help. But we forget when they take off the white coats. They are just one of us who don’t have the superpower, nor the protective cover. Let alone the flying wings. All they have is just a kind and warm heart.

•The 83-years-old Zhong Nanshan could have enjoyed his old age in peace.17 years ago, when he said firmly, "Bring all the patients hither to me!". 17 years later, he headed back to the battlefront and he said: "The hospital is the battlefield, as a doctor, if I don't go, who will?". The 86-year-old Professor Dong Zongqi, sitting in a wheelchair, saw more than 30 patients，and he said,” I’ve been saving people all my life.”.A career in medicine over 40 years, Dai Chun has traveled to Qinghai's farming and pastoral areas. After the outbreak, she has been fighting the disease from the plateau to the plain. The 73-year-old Professor Li Lanjuan knew the country was in trouble. She didn’t hesitate to go to Wuhan and firmly stated her vow: "I intend to stay in Wuhan for a long time and fight with the medical staff there!"

•The average age of the nurses in the ICU is only 25 years old, and the youngest just turned 20 years old. A lot of medical staff look at a petition full of red handprints, they said, "We just think without remuneration for others to do something regardless of life and death." One of them said, "I'm a professor, I have a lot of clinical experience. ” and “I am a communist and I want to charge at first.”

•Some medical staff cut hair to make it easier to wear protective clothing. Even if they sweat all over they still had worn protective clothing for a long time. When they took off their protective clothing, their clothes were already wet. When they take off their masks, they leave deep marks on their faces.When they were tired, they just rested at the corner. Even if they understand that they may be infected, they try their best to attend patients. They know they are the last line of defense between the virus and the public. What is it that makes so many medical staff voluntarily give up their vacations and reunions with their families to go to the front line? It's for the millions of families and all peace.

·At the beginning of the New Year,a sudden outbreak of pneumonia swept across the country. This is a war without smoke. Many ordinary people fight at the battlefront. They are the most beautiful "Heroes in harm's way ".

•When facing the sudden war "epidemic", not only the medical staff but other " Heroes in harm's way " chose to fight against the epidemic，who dedicated to the strength and spread the warmth. They are fighters in this war who fight against fear, rumors, and uncertainty.

•Everyone is fighting for ultimate triumph. Some are working non-stop regardless of winds and rains. And others are shuttling back and forth to deliver care and support to our heroes. Thousands of engineers worked around the clock to build two specialized hospitals equipped with 2,500 beds in less than 15 days. Scientists worked around the clock to isolate the virus strain and develop a test reagent in less than seven days. The people's liberation army soldiers work against time, whose high intensity of the work makes them exhausted. They finally build a city of love. There are community workers who leave no stone unturned in checking on every block to make sure that no family in need is left unattended to, factory workers who spare efforts to make masks and protective clothing for providing more supplies to the front lines and tens of thousands of volunteers who are working day and night to help deliver supplies and assistance to the affected regions.… They overspend their health to protect the peace of others.

•We used to think that a hero must be equipped with armors and endowed with inflexible will. But in fact, they are just plain-looking with a gentle heart. What scares us terrifies them. What we are fretting about is also worrying about their hearts. What we are fearing is also intimidating the brave. Maybe we don't know exactly who they are, but we know who they are for.

•These heroes forge ahead boldly and make us believe that dawn is coming. The moments we came together to applaud the care and dedication from the frontline workers will be remembered as the symbol of our national spirit. We tend to believe that greatness can be achieved only by changes of the times. But those who stick to their posts also shine like a diamond in our era.

•The sudden outbreak of the coronavirus shattered many Chinese’s wishes to return home for the Spring Festival. For a time, people could hardly buy masks in pharmacies. Even medical workers in the frontline felt the unprecedented shortages of supplies. At the very moment, many foreign countries, enterprises, schools and individuals offered their hand with generous money and medical supply to help China tide over the difficulty.

Even if we had to stay at home, we always came up with good ways to have fun. We used to get together to have a party at our relatives’ home. What was different this year is was that we had an online party through the video on Wechat. Every family learned to livestream how to make cakes, cold noodle and so on TikTok. Some people joked that after the outbreak, the whole country would be no lack of chefs. There were other new recreational ways invented by people. However, we couldn’t have holiday all the time and we still need to work and study. But, how? After all , modern science and technology is so great. There are many ways to work and study via all sorts of app. So as soon as holiday was over, people began to work and study online. Now, people are working and studying normally, just as they did before the outbreak. The only difference is the change of locations.

•Although our lives have changed a lot since the outbreak, it will not defeat us in the battle against it. Now many people are working and studying from home, and they are getting used to the new style of living.

•Japan and China are friendly neighbors connected by waters since the ancient time. Although the

relationship between the two counties had occasional twists and turns, the overall development situation is good. To help China fight coronavirus, Japanese from all walks of life donated a lot of goods. When the relief supply came, it came with poems on the relief supply box: “Although hills and rills set us apart, the moon and wind share our kind heart.” “Together we stand, my armors thine.” "Stand together through storm and stress, many a little makes a mickle". Such touching statements gave us great support to overcome this difficulty.

• “Foreigners Research Association” is an internet platform for international cultural exchanges. Its founder has lived in China for many years and has a deep affection for China.

Heard about the outbreak in China, although he was in Israel, he tried to raise relief supply for China via different channels. He worked day and night without sleep. He thought it was all worth it.

•In the war against the epidemic, despite a few hostile negative reports from the west that smeared the image of China, a large number of people in the international society had supported overseas Chinese against malicious discrimination. Among them, I was most impressed by the report of New York mayor Bill de Blasio of what he did at a Chinese restaurant. In response to some western coverage of discriminating, prejudiced reports about China, he wrote an article entitled ”Somethings Not Right Here Folks'| A Look at the USA 2009 H1N1 Virus Compared to China 2020Coronavirus” and posted it online. His post attracted a lot of attention and helped arouse awareness against the discrimination, and helped China gain international support.

•The World Health Organization that said recently that China's response to the outbreak was worth learning from. It praised China for its responsibility and said that a truth team will be set up to combat rumors and dispel false claims.

•The voices may come late, but they were never absent. I would like to thank all the international friends for sending charcoal in the snowy weather with generous assistance when China is facing difficulties. That's truly a friend in need.
