On July 19th, 2024, ACROBiosystems held the “Go to the World, Going Global” 2024 Corporate Anniversary Celebration at Beijing Fengda International Hotel. In this era full of challenges and opportunities, ACRO ushered in the grand convening of the annual global meeting with an open attitude and firm pace. 2024 is the second year for the company to hold the global meeting, which aims to gather colleagues from all over the world to deepen mutual understanding and friendship, synergize global strategies, share best practices, and inject vitality and impetus into the company's global development, and achieve fruitful results in various aspects. The annual global meeting (ACRO global meeting) was a great success in all aspects. The annual global meeting (ACRO global meeting) runs from July 15th to July 23rd.
On July 15, the program started with a company Site Tour. Colleagues from different regions visited the company's R&D and key production laboratories for the first time and witnessed the company's brilliant history and technological innovations since its foundation. This activity not only demonstrated the process from R&D to production and quality control but also laid a solid foundation for the sales team to face the customers.

On July 16, the company's Q2 business management meeting was held as scheduled. The person in charge of each department conducted an in-depth analysis and shared the work results, challenges, and solutions in the second quarter. It provided a valuable reference for the company to continuously optimize management and improve efficiency.
With the successful conclusion of the Sales Management Workshop on July 23rd, this annual global conference also drew a perfect conclusion. During the workshop, sales leaders had an in-depth discussion about the core contents of market opportunities, sales behavior strategies, and sales management capabilities. Through guidance and discussion, consensus and short-term action plans were formed, laying a solid foundation for further synergies and high-performance goals of the European team.
Visit to Suzhou to discuss GMP strategies
On July 22nd, the conference specially arranged a visit to Suzhou. Colleagues from all over the world visited the company's GMP plant in Suzhou and had an in-depth exchange and discussion on GMP strategy. The visit not only deepened the understanding and implementation of GMP standards in each continent but also provided strong support for improving the quality of the company's products and market competitiveness.

The 7th Conference on Toxicity Testing Alternative and Translational Toxicology was held in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province from July 3-6 2024 , and Dr. Zhen Qi, Senior Manager of R&D of ACROBiosystems, participated in the Symposium and shared the keynote report on the 5th.
The symposium was organized by two Professional Committees, one from the Chinese Society of Toxicology and one from the Chinese Society of Environmental Mutagens, the former named Alternative Methods of Toxicology and Translational and the latter named Toxicity Testing and Alternative Methods. The goal was to facilitate the exchange of academic advances and application progress among scientists, enterprises, and management professionals both at home and abroad, and to promote the development and dissemination of alternative methods of toxicity testing and translational toxicology. The conference mainly covered topics such as the establishment and development of alternative methods, new technical methods of toxicity testing, translational toxicology mechanisms, and the application of alternative methods. Experts from industry and academia in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, food, and chemical industries gathered to discuss new theories, technologies and methods in depth.

Dr. Zhen Qi is deeply engaged in the field of organoid differentiation by pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) and organoid vascularization. Dr. Qi shared the topic of “3D Organoid Differentiation by Multifunctional Stem Cells as a More Physiologically Relevant Toxicology Evaluation Model” in the session of “Application of Alternative Methods and Regulatory Management”.
He pointed out the significance of alternative in vitro toxicology models, their pain points, and new ideas to solve them. “Although traditional in vitro models can detect and evaluate potential toxicity at an early stage, they also have technical bottlenecks such as difficulty in replicating the environment of the human physiological system, differences in detection sensitivity, and the existence of false negatives and false positives. To address these pain points, researchers are turning to more advanced models such as organoids and microphysiological systems (MPS), especially those based on induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). These models are able to provide environments that more closely resemble human physiological conditions with multiple cell types, three-dimensional structures, and physiological functions, increasing the complexity and accuracy of the models.”

On July 12, 2024, the first batch of trial production in the Formulation Department came to a successful conclusion, which, like the first rays of sunshine from the morning sun, heralded a brand new starting point for our work.
1.Perseverance through challenge
In the early stages, on a vast, empty piece of land, we set the goal of creating an efficient production line. Despite the challenges, our team members worked tirelessly day and night, gradually completing the construction of the plant, equipment validation, and system development. We adhered to the principles of lean production, striving to ensure that every design strictly complied with regulatory requirements. During the implementation process, when faced with technical difficulties, team members actively discussed and resolved each issue with perseverance and wisdom.
2.Process control and steady progress
Throughout the entire trial production process, we strictly adhered to the quality system, ensuring that formal documents were effective before production began, records were properly distributed, and all areas were thoroughly cleared and authorized. Like precise navigation by sailors, this ensured the smooth progress of the trial production.
3.Positive results and first signs of success
Thanks to the collective efforts of all department members, the first batch of trial production was successfully completed. Following the GMP batch production process, we ensured that from product retrieval and thawing to mixing and strict execution of sterilization and filtration, and finally to aseptic filling, all steps were meticulously followed. This not only ensured the sterility of the entire production process but also demonstrated that our current team’s technology and process system can support formal project production. This is not only a reward for our hard work but also a strong testimony to our technical capabilities.

As the grand blueprint of the Acro Suzhou production base gradually unfolds, transitioning from bustling construction scenes to orderly production, the Suzhou EHS organization launched a series of Safety Production Month activities in June 2024. The theme of the activities was 'Everyone Talks Safety, Everyone Knows Emergency Response — Ensuring Clear Pathways to Life.' This was not only a summary and reflection on past safety efforts but also a meticulous planning and mobilization for a future safety production environment.

Station 3: Full-Scale Fire Extinguishing and Evacuation Drill
To enhance employees' emergency evacuation capabilities, we organized a fire extinguishing and evacuation drill. Employees were able to experience firsthand the emergency response procedures during a fire, including alerting, initial firefighting, and evacuation. This helps ensure quick and orderly actions in the event of a real fire. During the drill, over 100 employees, visitors, and suppliers completed the evacuation in 3 minutes and learned the correct firefighting methods.
Station 4: CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) Training
CPR training equips employees with essential knowledge and skills for basic life support, including recognizing the symptoms of cardiac arrest, activating the emergency response system, performing chest compressions, and providing rescue breaths. These skills can save lives in critical moments. Therefore, we have specifically set up CPR certification training courses.
Due to limited spots, a total of 20 colleagues actively signed up and passed the practical assessment. Through the training, employees are not only able to perform self-rescue in emergencies but can also provide timely assistance to colleagues or others in need, enhancing the company’s overall emergency response capability.

Station 1: Safety Recommendations Presentation
The campaign was initiated by HR and its strong support for work safety is greatly appreciated! It not only stimulates the enthusiasm of employees to participate, but also provides valuable ideas for the continuous improvement of work safety.
During the campaign, we encouraged our employees to actively put forward suggestions for improvement in work safety. A total of 42 safety suggestions were received and 29 were adopted after evaluation. Up to now, 18 suggestions have been rectified and completed, and the remaining 11 are being actively promoted.
Station 2: Environmental Safety Knowledge Contest
The online quiz and challenge mode were both engaging and challenging, sparking interest and enthusiasm among participants for learning environmental safety knowledge. It effectively enhanced employees' awareness and mastery of environmental safety practices.
By setting a series of progressively challenging levels and incorporating a study bank of 500 questions, 85 of our Suzhou colleagues actively participated and all passed the basic assessment. The subsequent levels were also successfully conquered one by one. Kudos to those who ranked at the top!
Station 7: Indoor Hidden Danger Identification
We set up several 'hazard points' in the QC physical and chemical area as part of a simulated on-site exercise. Through this realistic scenario simulation, participants could visually see and experience potential hazards, such as aging electrical wiring and improper storage of flammable materials. This tangible experience helps deepen the understanding of the severity of hazards.
Station 5: Injury Simulation & VR Virtual Accident Experience
To focus on employee health and accident prevention, we organized an injury simulation activity, with 34 employees participating. Additionally, we introduced VR virtual accident experience equipment, allowing employees to experience the moments and consequences of an accident in a virtual environment. This aims to enhance their safety awareness and prevention skills...
To enhance employees' awareness of safety signage and their operational safety standards, we held specialized training sessions on safety signage identification and LOTO (Lockout/Tagout). A total of 50 participants attended and all passed the assessment. These practical training sessions provide strong support for standardizing work practices and preventing accidents.

In July 2024, we had the privilege of participating in the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) 2024 annual meeting held in Hamburg, Germany. This was our first time setting up a large-scale booth in the European region. We showcased our highly-regarded GMP Laminin 521 and organoid products, which left a lasting impression on global attendees. Colleagues from the United States, China, and various parts of Europe joined forces for the exhibition. Through cross-regional and cross-departmental collaboration, we successfully enhanced the global visibility of the ACRO brand and the GMP Resilient Supply sub-brand.
Next stop, New Journey…
On the eve of the Acro Suzhou base's official production launch, we seized the opportunity of Safety Production Month to embark on a new safety journey. During the event, we recorded our reflections, making safety awareness our guiding light and illuminating our path forward. We aim to make safety behaviors our habit, safeguarding everyone’s well-being. We also extend our thanks to our entire ERT team for their strong support and advancement of EHS management. Acro's Leadership Phase I training（The Sixth Session）
From July 5th to 6th, the sixth session of the A+ Pilot Leadership Phase I training program was successfully held at Acro Beijing. Based on the ACRO 5D Leadership Model and the growth path for managers, the company devised the ACRO Leader Development Map and designed the A+ Pilot Development Program. Through this Phase I Leadership training, 28 participants from various departments at ACRO were supported in transitioning from individual contributors to team managers. They systematically learned and mastered key skills such as delegation, authority, responsibility, guidance, and feedback, which will effectively aid in their team management and address management challenges.

From June 21 to 22, 2024, the Cooperation and Transcendence copyright course was held at ACRO Beijing. Over the two-day training, 25 participants from various departments at Acro delved into the pathways of collaboration, fostering and maintaining cooperation, mutual understanding, trust-building, and establishing high-quality internal and external partnerships with a win-win mindset.

The Qixi Festival, also known as the Chinese Valentine’s Day, falls on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month on the Chinese calendar.
每年的农历七月七日，是中国的情人节——七夕。
There’s a romantic love story associated with Qixi. It says that a fairy named Zhi Nv, who lived in heaven, fell in love with a cow herder named Niu Lang during her trip to earth. Zhi Nv decided to settle down on earth and lead an ordinary life with Niu Lang.
关于七夕，有一个浪漫的传说。仙女织女到人间游玩时，和人间的牛郎相爱了。织女决定在人间和牛郎，过平凡却幸福的生活。
The Story of Qixi Festival
There are many expressions of Qixi Festival in English. Because Qixi Festival is also called "Qiqiao Festival", it can be called The Begging Festival. In addition, there is Double Sevenh Day Chinese Valentine's Day、Qixi Festival, The most commonly used is Magpie Festival. Magpie refers to "magpies". Legend has it that the Niu Lang and Zhi Nv meet every year at The Magpie Bridge, giving rise to the idea of the Magpie Festival. And the story of the Niu Lang and Zhi Nv has become the most widespread origin legend of the Qixi Festival.

Why need they stay together night and day?
